Caring writer and animal lover offering reliable house and pet sitting across Europe this summer

About this sitter

I’m a writer who enjoys quiet environments, animals, and taking care of spaces thoughtfully. I tend to travel slowly and prefer staying in real homes rather than hotels, which is why house sitting really appeals to me. I’m hoping to find longer house sits over the summer in Europe where I can help care for a home and any pets while having a calm place to work on my writing and explore the area.

I’m naturally very tidy and enjoy cleaning, gardening, and looking after plants. I’m healthy and active, and I have some experience working with trees and plants, so I’m always happy to care for gardens and outdoor spaces as well. I’m respectful of other people’s homes and routines, and I like making sure everything feels well looked after while owners are away.

Why they want to house sit

I really enjoy experiencing places in a more local and relaxed way rather than just passing through as a tourist. House sitting feels like a lovely exchange — I get to stay somewhere peaceful, spend time with animals, and have space to write, while making sure someone’s home and pets are well cared for while they’re away. I genuinely enjoy being domestic and the rhythm of looking after plants, gardens, homes, and animals, and creating a calm, peaceful environment for them.

Their experience

Yes — over the past year I’ve regularly house sat for a couple in Malaga, Spain who have three cats and the cutest adopted dog Beldi from Morocco. I’ve grown up with cats and dogs my whole life, so it's natural for me to be in a routine and care for them.

I think houses are also to be cared for and enjoy cleaning and gardening and keeping the space alive. I've worked in luxury retail for a premium personal care brand where a big part of the job is attention to detail, cleaning and care for the space and this has now become a ritual in my everyday.

I have also lived and travelled for long periods of time in different countries: France, Australia, Spain, Estonia and Scotland so am very happy to be alone / exploring in remote areas for long periods of time.
It’s a warming experience when people come and home and are relaxed and happy knowing that everything is in good hands!

What can they bring to the assignment

I bring a calm, reliable presence and genuine care for both animals and homes. I’m attentive and thoughtful, so creating relaxed environment so pets (and the plants/house!) feel comfortable and settled so their owners can enjoy their time away.

I’m also healthy and active (I enjoy long walks, pilates, swimming and yoga), and I have experience working with trees and plants, so I’m very happy to care for gardens and houseplants as well. I pay attention to the small details that keep a home running smoothly, and I’m always happy to send updates or photos so you can feel relaxed knowing everything is being well looked after.
