About this sitter

My adolescent life was spent bouncing back and forth from Montana and California about every two years. I’ve enjoyed living in some very beautiful places. I was told that I loved firefighters and fire trucks from the moment I could point and scream. Listening to the advice of my parents, I went to college in Santa Barbara, California first though and studied to be a teacher. Still struggling to decide I then started working heavily in the construction trades eventually focusing on being an electrician. I could never get the desire to be a firefighter out of my mind and so while apprenticing for electrician I became a volunteer for a fire department in my area. I went to paramedic school and then began to apply for professional fire departments. I ended up getting hired for the department I volunteered for and have been employed with them for the last 12 years. I have continued to work construction and as an electrician during my years of firefighting. I was married for 20 blessed years and have four incredible, beautiful mini adults that call me Dad from that marriage. I have many passions but my 3 main obsessions are adventure, animals and building things. I’m nearing retirement and looking for some new adventures. As my children grow more independent and need me less, I need something that keeps my adventurous spirit going, but also gives me the flexibility to be available to my children when they do need me. As many of us are aware, children go off and do there own thing, which means they sometimes move away, sometimes far away, from their home base of adolescence. House sitting would open a door to be able to visit them more freely while also allowing them to maintain their own space.

Why they want to house sit

I love to explore new areas and meet new people. I am very mechanically inclined and have lots of experience. Also, if I haven’t mentioned it yet, I love animals! Additionally, I am nearing retirement and looking for some new adventures. So hire me, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Their experience

Over the years I have house and pet sat plenty of times for friends, family and even neighbors. I have never professionally done so though till now. I have, however been hired by care taking companies to assist in repairs and cleaning to repair a home for the return of its owner.

What can they bring to the assignment

I have a diverse background that has given me a wide range of skills perfect for care of a home and animals. I have years of experience in building construction and remodeling. Extensive training in land maintenance, fuels mitigation and even landscaping. I’ve had a wide range of pets all my life including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish and every kind of reptile you can imagine. I’ve participated in the care of water fowl, chickens, cows, horses, pigs, goats and more. I’ve even had to administer medication to reptiles to include liquid meds through a metered dropper to a snake as well as liquid injections to a turtle. Give me any problem and I guarantee I can come up with a solution!
