Hi all!

I'm Lisa, an Irishwoman living in Barcelona since 2005. I'm a very energetic 58-year-old who loves animals, plants, photography, hiking and nature. I'm open and friendly, responsible, and always respectful of people's animals and property.

I like staying in places with access to nature, where I can walk or hike, and where it's reasonably quiet. A house/flat that's clean and comfortable, and the hosts are open and honest and provide clear instructions. Good WiFi is important as I often work during my housesits/petsits.

Why they want to house sit

I love to explore new places, to be in the company of animals (if you have them) and to be able to help someone out at the same time. A win-win for all :-)

Their experience

* Cats:
I adore cats, they're very special creatures. I've done a few cat sits here in Spain - for two or more cats at a time. My most recent catsit was in France, for 8 days over Christmas 2025, when I had the pleasure to look after an adorable, playful cat called Figs :-)
I looked after a feral cat colony for over 12 years, which gave me experience with cats of all personalities and temperaments. I'm also admin of a cat group on FB.
I can 'read' cats very well :-) I know when they're nervous, scared, or just want their own space, and I never pressure them. But if they want playtime and cuddles, then that's what they get! I also have experience medicating cats, as one of my own two cats requires thyroid meds every 12 hours.

* Dogs:
I grew up with many dogs in my family and was often in charge of feeding and walking them, and giving them a good bath after mucky walks :-)

I have cared for other people's dogs in my home for a few hours at a time, and also have plenty of experience walking them (one long-term commitment was walking a Chihuahua Monday to Friday for 10 months while the owner was away). I also help out friends with their dogs. I'm comfortable with both small and big dogs and have a great rapport with them - they sense the love :-)

My latest dog + cat sit was in Ireland, June 2025, for 7 days. I looked after 2 rescue border collies and 2 cats, as well as a couple of feral cats out the back :-) The dogs got a long walk both morning and evening and, as I was working remotely, I was with them for most of the day.

* Other animals:
I'm also open to looking after other animals, such as rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, birds, turtles, etc. I don't have any experience yet, but I'm sure I'll do a good job if I'm given a bit of instruction :-)

* Caring for your home:
When looking after people's homes, I take utmost care with their belongings, with security, I follow instructions, and make sure everything is left spick and span before I leave.

* I love plants too, so you can rest assured that they'll be alive and thriving when you get back! One of my sits involved looking after two cats and a large house with an extensive garden that required a lot of care.
