About this sitter
I’m retired and traveling in Europe, usually from March/April to June. Looking for quiet rural settings, and or places close to nature where I can hike. Have my own car.
Why they want to house sit
I’ve worked and lived in many different countries and love to explore new places. We always had (farm) animals and I like to take care of them if they are somewhat well behaved.
Their experience
I’ve been on the road due to work for nearly 40 years and lived in many places, from Jurts in Central Asia to boats in Indonesia and very much used to different climates and cultures. Grew up on a farm, very familiar with rural settings and animals.
What can they bring to the assignment
Responsibility to take care of properties and pets as if there are my own. We had and have dogs, cats, poultry, donkeys etc. I’m also very practical and good at fixing stuff (I’m a forester by training). I'm usually very flexible and can adapt to changing schedules.

A cat whisperer - what a gem!
Horst is a dream house sitter. He is relaxed yet organized. Flexible, pleasant, and reliable. He stayed in regular contact by both text and calls. He sent regular photos. Hordt stayed an extra day when my flights were delayed. Most importantly, my 3 kitties adored him. Even Ruby , who never sits on my lap, say on his twice. I hope he will return sometime.
