Please feel free to reach out, even if we haven’t contacted you directly. We’re new to house sitting and excited to see where this journey may take us, the people we’ll meet, and the homes and pets we’ll have the privilege to care for along the way.
We’re a married couple happily living in what we like to call the “in-between” — that sweet season of life where our three children have grown and set off to live their own “one wild and precious” lives, and we’re a few years away from retirement. It’s opened up space for us to explore, connect, and experience new places in a meaningful way.
Mark works full-time as a project manager and software engineer for a global company, and I work as a life coach and therapist. Because we both can work remotely (Mark entirely so), we’re able to bring our work with us wherever we go. A reliable internet connection is important for us, but beyond that, we’re quite flexible and comfortable in a wide range of environments.
We are non-smokers and non-drug users who value maintaining a clean, peaceful home environment, and we do prefer non-smoking homes whenever possible. From time to time, we may enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail with dinner, but otherwise live a very active, yet relaxed and responsible lifestyle.
We genuinely love the rhythm of caring for a home and the companionship of animals—especially dogs. We’re most experienced with house-trained pups and feel very at ease with their routines, needs, and personalities. Over the years, I (Lara) have also cared for a variety of other animals, including rabbits, chickens, ducks, fish, and even hedgehogs. That said, we are allergic to cats, so we wouldn’t be the right fit for homes with indoor cats
As longtime homeowners (29 years and counting!), we understand the importance of maintaining a space with care and respect. We’re naturally tidy, attentive, and committed to leaving every home we stay in just as we found it—or even better. We also have moderate experience with gardening and yard care and are happy to help keep things looking their best.
We enjoy being outdoors, discovering new places, and meeting new people along the way. While we are English speakers, we’re very open to using tools like translation apps to communicate and connect wherever we are.
At the heart of it, we’re simply a responsible, grounded couple who will care for your home and pets with genuine attention and respect—so you can travel with peace of mind.
For everyone’s comfort and peace of mind, a background report is available once you as the homeowner and we as the housesitter have mutually agreed to move forward with a sit together. It’s a thoughtful extra layer of trust as we begin the journey from “nice to meet you” to “here are the keys and the dog’s favorite blanket.
We’re drawn to house sitting because it allows us to experience the world in a more meaningful, grounded way than traditional travel. Rather than just passing through a place, we enjoy settling in, becoming part of the rhythm of a home, and truly getting to know the area—its neighborhoods, nature, and community.
Travel and exploration are important to us, especially in this season of life. House sitting gives us the opportunity to discover new places while still maintaining the balance of our daily work and routines. It’s the perfect blend of adventure, stability and serving others in the world around us.
Just as important, we see house sitting as an opportunity to offer care and kindness. We genuinely enjoy supporting others by giving them peace of mind while they’re away, knowing your home and beloved pets are in good hands. Caring for your space, and your beloved animals if in present brings us joy, and we value the trust that comes with being welcomed into your space.
For us, it’s not just about where we go—it’s about how we show up. We aim to be thoughtful, respectful, and attentive in every home, treating it—and the pets in it—with the same care we would our own. Because of this, we tend to prefer longer stays that allow for that deeper connection—typically 15 days or more within the U.S., and around 21 days or more for international sits.
With over 29 years of marriage and homeownership, we bring a strong foundation of real-life experience to house sitting. Caring for your home isn’t new to us—it’s something we’ve done consistently and take pride in. We understand the details that matter, from keeping a space clean, tidy and well-maintained to noticing the little things that help a home run smoothly.
Our experience with animals is grounded and practical as well. Having cared for our own dogs over the years, we’re very comfortable with their routines, needs, and personalities, especially when it comes to house-trained pets.
In addition, we’ve had hands-on experience with a variety of other animals throughout our lives, including rabbits, chickens, ducks, fish, and hedgehogs. This gives us a level of adaptability and confidence when caring for different types of pets.
We also bring experience in maintaining outdoor spaces, with moderate gardening and yard care skills developed over decades of caring for our own property.
Combined with our remote work lifestyle, reliability, and attention to detail, we offer a level of experience that is both practical and deeply rooted in everyday life. As a homeowner you can feel confident knowing your home and pets if present are being cared for by people who are not only capable, but genuinely invested in doing things well.
We bring a calm, reliable presence backed by decades of homeownership and hands-on pet care. We are also able to bring consistency as we tend to prefer longer stays (15-30 days). We’re attentive to the details that keep a home running smoothly, comfortable with a variety of animals (especially dogs), and committed to keeping your space clean, tidy, well cared for, and respected. With our remote work lifestyle, your home and pets receive consistent, thoughtful care—so you can relax and be away with complete peace of mind.
