Active Retired Couple with Home Maintenance and Animal Fostering Experience

We are newly retired adventurers embarking on the journey of a lifetime. After selling our real estate business of 20+ years and our home in Florida, we've embraced our new motto: "2 bags and a passport." Our plan is to spend the next several years slow-traveling around the world, fully immersing ourselves in each destination we visit.

The nomadic lifestyle isn't new to us. A few years ago, we purchased a 32-foot RV and spent two incredible years exploring America—from national and state parks to charming small towns and significant historical sites. Our approach then, as now, was to stay at least a week (or even 2-4 weeks) in every location, allowing us to truly absorb the local culture and character of each place.

Prior to that RV experience we also opened up a section of our house and AirBnB'd it for 3 years. We made some decent money doing do...but even more importantly we truly enjoyed the experience as we got to meet people from all over the world!

Our shared passions include hiking, biking, exploring museums and historical landmarks, and discovering authentic local restaurants and entertainment. We're drawn to experiences that connect us with the heart of a place and its people.

We're not tourists—we're temporary locals. Rather than rushing through destinations, we commit to spending several weeks to a month in each location we visit. We don't just want to "see the sights"; we want to live like locals, shop at neighborhood markets, frequent the corner café, and become familiar faces in the community.

Our goal is authentic cultural immersion. We're passionate about meeting people, sharing stories, and learning about different ways of life. For us, travel is about building connections and understanding what it truly feels like to call a place home, even if only temporarily. Every conversation and friendship enriches our journey and broadens our perspective on the world.

Why they want to house sit

As we stated in our description we are avid travelers and explorers. Home and pet sitting allows us the explore more areas in a more cost effective manner while helping others maintain their homes and pets while they may be out exploring as well. As we also stated in our description; Sharon brings so much pet knowledge and Dwight brings an extensive knowledge of home maintenance. Our goal is to always combine these talents with the love and caring one would want and expect from individuals watching over their most valued possessions. This allows both parties to enjoy their time away and do it with trust and confidence.

Their experience

Sharon brings extensive pet care and animal loving experience to our services. Throughout her lifetime, she has lived with and cared for 5 dogs—two Shetland Sheepdogs, a German Shephard, a "mutt" and one Havanese—along with a succession of seven cats. Her commitment to animal welfare extends beyond her own pets; she has volunteered at the local Humane Society fostering dogs and cats...especially those that were injured or had medical issues that needed to be attended to prior to being able to be put up for adoption. She grew quite adept at "pilling" her patients and can do it with ease.

Dwight offers professional-level home maintenance expertise. Over the years, he has been involved in the construction and maintenance of multiple homes, developing in-depth knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. His hands-on experience ensures that any home maintenance issues can be addressed promptly and effectively.

Together, we provide comprehensive home and pet care services. Our combined experience includes maintaining our own properties throughout our lives, as well as successfully owning and personally operating an Airbnb in St Augustine Florida for several years. During that time, we personally handled all maintenance, repairs, and cleaning, giving us unique insight into maintaining homes to the highest standards while ensuring guest satisfaction.

We are extremely clean, organized, and respectful of other peoples properties...just as we have been with our own.
