About this sitter

We’re a Canadian-Irish couple in our 40s who genuinely enjoy caring for your home and your pets while you’re away. We feel most at home in quieter, rural places with animals around, and we aim to step in as a calm, steady presence so you can travel knowing everything is in caring hands.

Our focus is your pets feeling safe, settled, and cared for, and your home being respected and looked after as you would keep it yourself. We follow your routines closely and take the time to understand each animal so they feel comfortable with us.

We’re very comfortable with daily care like walks, feeding, companionship, and medication if needed. We find joy spending time with animals and making sure they feel secure and not alone while you’re away.

We’re also experienced with rural and remote living, and we handle practical day-to-day situations calmly and reliably, with clear communication if anything comes up.

We’re open to different places, but we’re especially drawn to rural homes where we can really support you, your pets, and connect with your community

Why they want to house sit

We find joy in slow traveling in a way that feels grounded and useful.

House sitting lets us care for your animals as well as get the feel for your communities while supporting you while you need so you can enjoy your time away, or fullfill your obligations, knowing you have someone who just loves caring for pets.

We both really enjoy the daily rhythm of feeding, walking, and just being around animals. We have had great experiences over the past 11 years traveling, pet sitting, work away etc as a couple and both hosting and 'surfing' with various platforms.

Their experience

Yes. We have lived together in rural and semi off-grid places in Canada and Ireland, helping to care for homes and pets.

With our background in industrial mechanics/nursing, independent living and practical problem-solving are very normal for us. We welcome open, ongoing and clear communication.

We’re very used to managing day-to-day life independently. We’ve looked after dogs, cats, and small farm animals, and are comfortable with routines, including medication and basic health awareness :) We would love to bring our joy for animals and travel and our caring approach to your home and pet-family.

What can they bring to the assignment

Most importantly we bring warmth, love and caring to your pet-family and home. We’re calm, reliable, and fairly low-maintenance people. We keep homes clean and tidy, and we’re consistent with animal routines like walks, feeding, and company. If anything comes up we deal with it sensibly and communicate straight away. Basically, we just look after things properly so owners don’t need to worry while they’re away.
