About this sitter

We are an active, adventurous family based in Greater London – my husband, our two teenagers (aged 13 and 16), and me. I gave up my corporate job ten years ago to spend more time with my children, and we've never looked back. Our summers are spent road-tripping through Europe – the Alps in particular hold a very special place in our hearts – and our holidays are always packed with hiking, climbing, exploring and seeking out new adventures.

We love animals deeply. We had a cat of our own for several years, and we have experience looking after cats, dogs, and small animals. Housesitting feels like a natural extension of who we are – it combines our love of travel, our love of animals, and our desire to experience places like a local rather than a tourist.

What we look for in a housesit is simple – a home where we can feel comfortable and settled, pets we can genuinely bond with and care for, and a location that lets us get outdoors and explore. We are particularly drawn to mountain regions, lakes, and anywhere with good hiking on the doorstep, though we are open to cities and new experiences too.

Why they want to house sit

Housesitting ticks so many boxes for us at once. We love animals and genuinely miss having a pet of our own, so looking after someone else's is an absolute joy rather than a chore. We also love to travel, and housesitting allows us to experience a place properly – shopping at the local market, discovering the neighbourhood café, getting to know the area the way a resident would rather than a tourist passing through.

But honestly, the animals are a huge part of it. There is something really special about the bond you build with a pet over even just a week or two. My children in particular are animal mad – and seeing them light up around animals is one of my greatest joys.

Their experience

Yes! We have previous housesitting experience through TrustedHousesitters, where we have a five-star review for a cat sit. We also had a cat of our own for several years, so we are very comfortable with all aspects of cat care.

Beyond cats, we have looked after a friend's guinea pigs for two weeks while she was away, and we have done informal day sits for dogs for friends and neighbours. We are also no strangers to the Border Collie – a few years ago we spent a week on a farm in Scotland where the landlord had four of them, and my children were completely smitten. That week made us realise just how much we'd love to take on dog sits properly, which is exactly what we're doing this year.

Reliability and peace of mind, above all. We know how hard it is to leave your home and your pets in someone else's hands, and we take that responsibility seriously. We treat every home as if it were our own – keeping it clean, tidy, and well looked after throughout our stay.

We are great communicators and believe in keeping owners updated regularly – photos, messages, little updates so you know your pet is happy and your home is in good hands. We are flexible, low-maintenance guests who really don't need much, and we bring genuine warmth and enthusiasm to every sit.

My children are kind, responsible, and absolutely love animals – which means any pet in our care gets a lot of love and attention. And as a family that spends much of the year outdoors and on the move, we are well practised at adapting to new environments, being respectful of other people's spaces, and simply getting on with things.
