About this sitter

I am a reliable 50+yo professional engineer, semi-retired from Automotive industry. Have previously run a custom LFP battery building business, as well as home remodeling. Habla un poco Espanol, if that helps (hola!). I don't smoke or drink, but enjoy exploring, being in nature for biking, hiking, kayaking, reading and listening to music, and cooking with locally grown organic ingredients.

Why they want to house sit

I have love exploring new areas. My traveling companion Gracie recently passed of old age - not ready yet to get a new one, but enjoy spending time with animals. Mainly have owned cats or dogs. I welcome being a companion to yours, so that they don't feel lonely or abandoned while away.

Their experience

While new to this platform, I have lovingly cared for a range of animals my entire life - from dogs & cats, to rabbits, turtles, birds & fish, and owned several properties in my lifetime, both city to rural. Have also dealt with everything from basic maintenance inside & out, to roof leaks & basement floods, or replacing water heaters.

What can they bring to the assignment

Besides basic home & animal care, I have also been on the security team for several churches, keeping a watchful eye over our parking areas, entrance & exits, and general well being.

When I spent some time at a very remote eco-village in Costa Rica, they experienced some power outages with their grid connected solar system - I was able to aid their young Maintenance man to troubleshoot, identify the causes, and get them back up & running within an hour, by knowing basic 120V AC systems & also how to properly setup solar inverter & battery settings. I also later interfaced with their multiple solar installer vendors, and advised them on which ones knew their stuff & which were taking them for a ride. I have extensive experience with both landscaping & home improvement projects, from basic plumbing, electrical, and remodeling.
