About this sitter

Suzanne (67) is retired and loves slow travel. James (62), who works in information technology, is keen to accompany Suzanne but needs a home base to plug into while he's working. Medium to long-term house sits will allow us to experience more of the world, while you get reassurance that your piece of the world is being well cared for.

Why they want to house sit

After dedicating ourselves to family and career, we're ready to see more of the world, but at a slow pace. Caring for a home and pets gives us a sense of purpose beyond simple tourism, where we can immerse ourselves in the local lifestyle. We enjoy meeting people and feel that house sitting is a win-win. We're fit, active and enjoy hiking and long walks, bicycling and photography.

Their experience

We've been homeowners for almost 40 years, in the city and the country, and are tidy, responsible, and reasonably handy, indoors and out. We both love pets and have had numerous cats and reptiles while raising our family. We dog-sit for our daughter when she travels, and have provided walking services for a neighbour's active dogs. We're looking forward to our first formal house sit!

What can they bring to the assignment

We're a thoughtful, calm couple who will treat your house as if it were our own. We're ready to provide light grounds maintenance, if needed, along with the love and attention your pets need. Suzanne is also fluent in French and can get by with basic Spanish. We'd be happy to do a video call so you can get a sense who we are!
