About this sitter

I am a nutrition doctor, author, and professor from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. I have worked remotely since 2020 and that flexibility allows me to spend substantial time in the home, provide consistent companionship for pets, and be attentive to daily routines while I travel at a relaxed pace.

After facing several cancer battles, I have been reminded that life is short and that meaningful experiences, time with loved ones, and seeing more of the world matter deeply. House sitting feels like a wonderful way to travel thoughtfully, enjoy new communities and cultures while providing something genuinely valuable in return, loving care for pets and peace of mind for homeowners.

Animals have always been an important part of my life. We currently have two indoor rescue cats, two outdoor rescue cats, nine hens, and our young Cockapoo, Bastian. Over the years, we have also loved and cared for numerous cats who have crossed the rainbow bridge, a Golden Retriever who gave us 13 wonderful years, and a rescue Labrador from Puerto Rico who was part of our family for nine years.

I am comfortable with a wide range of pet care needs, including dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. In college, I worked as a trail guide and groom’s aide, and I have also volunteered with a therapeutic riding center. I understand the importance of safe routines, careful observation, consistent feeding schedules, exercise, grooming, medications when needed, and calm, attentive handling.

I am a responsible homeowner, non-smoker, and experienced pet parent who understands how important it is to know that both your home and animals are in caring, reliable hands. Depending on the situation, I may travel independently or with my husband, James, who is a physician and watercolor artist. We are both mature, respectful professionals who value privacy, cleanliness, communication, and following household routines carefully.

I am looking for house sits where I can provide genuine companionship and attentive care for pets while keeping a home secure and well-maintained. I am especially drawn to sits with animals who benefit from consistency, daily exercise, playtime, medication routines, and plenty of affection. I am comfortable with feeding, litter care, chicken care, mail and package collection, plant watering, and sending regular updates and photos.

I am interested in both shorter getaways and longer stays, particularly in walkable towns, near nature, coastal areas, or places with local character to explore. My goal is always for homeowners to return to a clean, cared-for home and happy, well-loved pets.

Why they want to house sit

I want to house sit because it combines several things that matter deeply to me: caring for animals, experiencing new places in a more meaningful way, and giving homeowners true peace of mind while they are away.

After facing several cancer battles, I have been reminded that life is short. I want to make room for more thoughtful travel, more time in beautiful and interesting communities, and more experiences that feel personal rather than rushed. House sitting allows me to do that while also being genuinely useful to someone else.

I have worked remotely since 2020, so I am able to spend substantial time in the home and provide consistent companionship for pets. Animals have always been a central part of my life, and I am especially drawn to sits where I can care for dogs, cats, chickens, horses, or other animals who benefit from routine, attention, and affection.

As a homeowner and longtime pet parent, I understand how hard it can be to leave your animals and home behind. My goal is for homeowners to feel confident that their pets are loved, their routines are followed, and their home is secure and well cared for until they return.

Their experience

Yes. I have a lifetime of hands-on experience caring for animals and managing a home.

I currently care for a young Cockapoo, two indoor rescue cats, two outdoor rescue cats, and nine hens. Over the years, I have also cared for numerous cats, a Golden Retriever who was with us for 13 years, and a rescue Labrador from Puerto Rico who was part of our family for nine years.

I am comfortable with feeding schedules, walks, exercise, playtime, litter care, chicken care, basic grooming, medication routines, observing for changes in behavior or appetite, and providing calm, consistent companionship. I also have horse experience from working as a trail guide and groom’s aide in college and volunteering at a therapeutic riding center.

As a homeowner and remote-working professional, I am also experienced in the practical side of a house sit: keeping a home secure, collecting mail and packages, watering plants, following detailed instructions, maintaining cleanliness, and communicating regularly with homeowners. I understand that every pet and household has its own routine, and I take that responsibility seriously.

What can they bring to the assignment

I bring reliability, maturity, flexibility, and genuine care for both animals and homes.

As a remote-working nutrition doctor and professor, I can spend substantial time in the home rather than being out all day. I am organized, attentive to details, calm under pressure, and used to managing responsibilities independently. I will follow your routines carefully, communicate clearly, and provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident while you are away.

I also bring a lifetime of animal experience. I am comfortable caring for dogs, cats, chickens, and horses, including feeding, walks, playtime, litter care, basic grooming, medication routines, monitoring for changes in behavior or appetite, and giving animals the consistency and affection they need.

As a homeowner myself, I understand the importance of keeping a property secure, clean, and well maintained. I am respectful of privacy, careful with belongings, and comfortable handling practical tasks such as mail and package collection, plant watering, light household upkeep, and following detailed instructions.

Most importantly, I bring the mindset that this is not simply a place to stay. It is a responsibility and a privilege to care for someone’s beloved animals and home as thoughtfully as I would want mine cared for.
