About this sitter

Hello! We are Mike and Tamara, a mature, responsible, and good-humoured couple (aged 50 and 45) looking to trade the fast pace of city life for the tranquility of rural or semi-rural settings. My wife is a retired professional dancer, an avid gardener, and a trained plumber. I am a writer, filmmaker, tech-savvy computer user, and an experienced home cook.

We live a clean, mindful lifestyle: we are non-smokers, drug-free, child-free, and follow a wholesome, Ayurvedic diet focused on local, seasonal foods.

What we are looking for: We are seeking peaceful, tranquil accommodations where we can enjoy traveling at a slower pace while giving your home the highest level of care. Please note: Due to a severe indoor animal allergy, we are exclusively looking for listings in pet-free properties (or homes that haven't recently housed indoor pets). However, we absolutely love animals and are more than happy to care for outdoor animals, livestock, or smallholdings!

Why they want to house sit

We are looking to dip our toes into the world of house sitting as a way to experience new places deeply and at a slower, more intentional pace. We thrive in quiet, natural environments, and we are eager to spend time out of the city. House sitting allows us to explore beautiful regional areas affordably while doing what we naturally love: tending to gardens, maintaining properties, cooking with fresh local ingredients, and enjoying a tranquil, grounded lifestyle. For us, it’s about providing peace of mind to homeowners while enjoying a quiet change of scenery.

While we are new to this specific platform, we are highly experienced homeowners and caretakers in our own right. We completely understand the mechanics, care, and respect required to keep a property running smoothly. Between my wife’s professional training in plumbing and my extensive, hands-on experience in property maintenance, we are uniquely equipped to handle the unexpected. We pride ourselves on being laidback yet highly organised, communicative, and thoroughly reliable.

What can they bring to the assignment

We bring practical caretaking skills and mindful respect for your space. When you leave your home with us, we will care for it as if it was ours: We have a home of our own, and we know how hard it is to hand over keys and trust that everything will be as you left it when you get back. Giving the gift of that peace of mind to others is something we are honoured to do.

My wife trained as a plumber, and I am experienced in general building and construction work, basic carpentry, basic electrics, and tree care/pruning.

We are deep lovers of nature. My wife is a keen gardener who loves keeping plants thriving, and we are both happy to handle outdoor property maintenance.

As a tech-savvy filmmaker, I can easily manage smart home systems, troubleshoot Wi-Fi issues, and ensure your home's tech and security remain seamless.
