About this sitter

We’re a calm, responsible couple with a deep love for animals. We enjoy maintaining a clean, peaceful home - we're quiet, respectful neighbors and have a low-key lifestyle. We take our role as pet and home caretakers seriously - we know how much trust is required and we honor that. In our free time, we enjoy exploring new towns and vegan/vegetarian restaurants, being in nature, and just relaxing at home with an old movie.

We travel with our 9-lb dog and only accept sits where she is welcome. She’s a calm, 7-year-old who is very loving and social with other animals. She has a natural ability to read other dogs’ cues, adjusting her play style and giving space as needed. She settles in quietly and makes new friends quickly. She’s a seasoned traveler and adapts easily to new homes and routines.

We value good communication, positive relationships, sweet pets, and a safe, peaceful environment.

Why they want to house sit

We love making new furry friends and slow travel. We’re “live like the locals do” types when traveling. We also know how important peace of mind is when you’re away from your treasured family members (and home!), and it feels good to provide that. Last year we lost our beloved senior rescue dog from heart disease — he almost made it to 20 years! Now that we’re no longer senior caregivers, we decided to begin traveling and pet sitting again.

Their experience

Jana has had dogs all her life, as well as a cat as a kid. Junior grew up with birds. We both have experience with dogs of all types, cats, and a little with smaller pets. We love dogs of all sorts, but have extra experience with seniors and shy types who need a little time to get comfortable. We have been house/pet sitters for years for friends and family and also use another well-known pet/housesitting site. We are volunteers and repeat animal rescuers.

What can they bring to the assignment

Pets are always our top priority. We’re attentive to routines, feeding schedules, walks, medications, and making sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and loved while you’re away. Every pet is unique, and we follow instructions carefully to keep things as familiar as possible for them. We have experience with (and big hearts for) seniors and shy pets!

We’re very tidy! You can expect your home to be treated with the utmost care, and you’ll return to find it At Least as clean as you left it, maybe better! :) We have Many Airbnb reviews we can share that attest to this. We’re quiet, respectful neighbors and live a low-key lifestyle. We don’t smoke or drink, and we value a safe, calm environment.
