My name is Rachael, I'm 32 years old and based out of Vancouver, Canada.

I have been professionally dog walking and pet sitting for nine years and have owned my own dogs since I was 12!

I am someone who feels most alive around animals, in nature, and through movement and reading. Trading pet / home care for accommodation allows me to bring all of these loves into one experience. By caring for pets, I get daily time outside, meaningful connection with animals, and peaceful evenings to unwind with a good book. I see housesitting as a beautiful exchange of trust, responsibility, and presence while exploring new places in a grounded and respectful way.

I love house and pet sitting because it allows me to travel while still feeling grounded, connected, and purposeful. My work gives me a lot of flexibility, and house / pet sitting internationally has made it possible for me to explore new places with confidence, knowing I will have a furry companion to share my days with. Traveling solo feels more meaningful and comforting when I am caring for an animal and creating a little sense of home wherever I go.

I have been devoted to the professional pet care industry for the last nine years. During this time I have cared for over 150 pets, from young and energetic puppies to elderly and unwell animals who need extra attention and patience. This experience has given me a deep understanding of different personalities, behaviours, and needs, as well as the ability to notice when something feels off and a pet may need medical support.

I also take great pride in respecting someone's home. Cleanliness, responsibility, and care are very important to me, and I treat every space as if it were my own. You can trust that both your pets and your home will be looked after with loving care and respect.
