Hello! We're Declan and Ned, a Yorkshire-based couple who love spending time outdoors and making the most of nature. Whether it's long walks, exploring the countryside, or discovering somewhere new, we're happiest when we're outside.

We're both fortunate to work remotely, which gives us the flexibility to combine work with travel and experience different places at a slower pace. House sitting is the perfect way for us to do that while also providing homeowners with peace of mind that their home and pets are being well looked after.

We're respectful, tidy, and treat every home as if it were our own. We understand the trust involved in welcoming someone into your home, and we're committed to caring for your property, plants, and pets with the same attention and care that we would our own.

Why they want to house sit

We want to house sit because it allows us to experience new places in a much more authentic way than staying in hotels or holiday accommodation. Since we both work remotely, we have the flexibility to spend time in different locations while maintaining our normal routines.

We also enjoy the responsibility that comes with looking after a home and, where applicable, caring for pets. It's rewarding to know that we're helping homeowners travel with peace of mind, knowing their home is being cared for by people who will treat it with respect.

For us, house sitting is a wonderful opportunity to explore new communities, enjoy the outdoors, and meet some lovely pets along the way. We see it as a mutually beneficial experience—we get to discover new places, and homeowners can relax knowing their home is in safe and caring hands.

While we're new to house sitting through platforms like MindMyHouse, we do have experience looking after homes and pets for family.

We've cared for Declan's parents' lively Cockapoo while they were away, making sure they were well exercised, happy, and kept to their usual routine. We've also looked after Ned's parents' home and their three cats during holidays, ensuring they were well fed, comfortable, and given plenty of attention while keeping the house clean, secure, and well maintained.

These experiences have reinforced how important it is to be reliable, trustworthy, and respectful when caring for someone else's home and beloved pets. We're confident, responsible, and excited to build on this experience by helping other homeowners enjoy their time away with complete peace of mind.
