A Dog's Best Friend, Twice a Day

About this sitter

I'm happy to house sit anywhere in the UK or EU, city or countryside, as long as there's public transport and a supermarket nearby. I'm self-contained and will mostly be bashing away on my laptop starting my online business, so all I need is somewhere to cook, shower, and get online. I'm an EU citizen with full work authorisation across the EU, EEA and UK. I don't mind keeping pets company during the day and walking them first thing in the morning and last thing at night — pets love routines, and so do I. I'm flexible on how long I stay, from a few days to a few weeks or longer. I'm in my early fifties, have lived all over, and speak a few languages — though maybe not yours! English is my first language, so we'll have no trouble communicating.

Their experience

Yes, I'm experienced, though not on this site yet. I've had a dog on and off since 1974, and I'm actually minding my sister's house as I type this, having walked her dog around 600 times over the past year. I'm reliable for all the boring but essential stuff too, taking out the bins, watering the plants, and generally keeping things ticking over. My favourite breed is the Jack Russell, but I've also had Labradors, spaniels, cockapoos, and others. Every dog is different, some love to walk, some love to swim, and some just want to catch a ball all day. Cats too, though they're a different prospect altogether, and walking a cat hasn't quite caught on yet!"

What can they bring to the assignment

What I can bring to the assignment is routine, and I have a reputation for doing what I say I will do. I'll keep to the same schedule for feeding, walking, and settling the pets as you do, so there's no disruption while you're away. I'm quiet, self-contained, and easy to have in the house, and I'll keep on top of the small jobs too, bins, post, plants, so everything's just as you left it when you're back.
