Long term house/pet sitter, lawn care taker, traveler, pet lover!

About this sitter

Hi - I'm Janey. I've been working in health and wellness for a few decades now keeping two-legged and four-legged clients active and healthy in Southern Michigan.

Michigan is beautiful but the winters can be brutal and I'd like to explore other areas of the country with a little more sunshine and warmth in the SW before the next winter hits.

First and foremost, I'm looking for a place that is safe but also peaceful and quiet. I would prefer long term sits - two weeks or longer with a mellow dog who likes to walk a couple times a day and/or one or two cats. Other pets like chickens, bunnies and fish are also fine.

I'm also open to long term sits in S. America - Ecuador, Albania, Costa Rica, etc.

I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. I'm a health nut and LOVE to cook and walk daily.

I'm also happy to attend to your garden, lawn, plants, etc. And if you need/want something organized, I can do that too.

Why they want to house sit

A few reasons I like house/pet sitting ......

I love helping people and I love making connections. My whole career has been about keeping people and their pets healthy. It just seems like another great opportunity for doing that.

I don't have many ties keeping me in Michigan and I'm willing to explore different parts of the world with the potential of putting down some roots. House/pet sitting may provide an opportunity to find where I'd like to be for awhile.

House/pet sitting seems like a win-win for house/pet owners and someone like myself who's willing to travel and spend quality time with your fur family (or just to take care of your home while you're gone.) It provides peace of mind.

I love to be outside with animals, walking, playing, etc. I like to keep active and keep animals engaged so they feel loved, healthy and taken care of.

The nomad lifestyle isn't ideal for having pets so taking care of other people's animals is the next best thing. There's nothing like unconditional love that we get from them. And they're typically pretty simple creatures - they live in the moment and they don't seem as complicated as we humans are.

Their experience

I have definitely had experience with house and pet sitting for my health and fitness clients. I like to keep everyone in the household as healthy and active as I can! I have also provided basic training and walking has been a part of my repertoire in the last decade or so.

For the last several years, I have also helped my clients with mowing, gardening, trimming, weed whacking, etc. I'm also a bit obsessed with organizing and love organizing refrigerators, cupboards and closets - in case a home owner might need something like that!

I've also lived on a couple of farms (with chickens, rabbits and dogs) during my travels and did pet sitting at a bnb stay in Michigan two years ago (with two dogs in the photos).I also did house/pet sitting in Oregon for several months (with the two cats in the photos.)

I'm pretty new to MindMyHouse so I'm still working on completing all the info in my profile that may help you decide if I'm the right fit for your sit. I'm more than happy to do the background check as well as provide references at your request if I haven't uploaded that info yet.

What can they bring to the assignment

I'm someone who will take good care of your home, pets, plants and yard. I love peace and quiet and I love to walk! So if getting your fur baby some exercise is a top priority for you, you've got the right gal. I will spend quality time playing with them, giving them lots of love and attention (if that suits their personality) so they feel happy and cared for while you're away :)
