Why they want to house sit

Aside from the joy that caring for other people's spaces/pets brings, I am looking to escape the Florida heat mid-August to mid-September! It is a goal of mine (and my husband's) to spend at least a month in North Carolina each summer. We have several good friends in Western North Carolina and have spent a few weeks of September camping in the mountains annually for several years. Housesitting for a longer stretch in the region would help me/us gain clarity regarding future plans.

Their experience

I became an "accidental" sitter for a former boss in 2021 during the pandemic for a change of scenery, and it escalated from there! I work remotely - nonprofit administrative work - so this is a win/win for everyone! I regularly care for four households that combined include dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, and lots of plants (both ornamental and edible) in the Jacksonville, Florida area and would be happy to provide references from them upon request.

What can they bring to the assignment

I’m the self-appointed CEO of my own one-acre homestead in northeast Florida, so I know all about the joys and struggles of owning a home - and how to handle any problem that pops up. I have been house/petsitting regularly for three families for five years now; I also work on an organic farm and have farm sat while the "farmily" is on vacation, tending to cats, chickens, and pigs (and, of course, plants!).
