I'm Steven, a data engineer in my early thirties, originally from Costa Rica and currently based in Florida. I work fully remotely, which means I'm home during the day and out exploring in the evenings — a steady, quiet routine that fits well with pets who need regular walks and feedings. I'm tidy, low-drama, and I treat a home like it's my own. What I'm looking for is a place where I can settle in for a couple of weeks or more, take good care of the home and any pets, and get a real feel for the city while I'm there. I'm flexible on location and genuinely easy to have around. I'm a dog dad, but I wont be bringing my mini dachsund with me.

Why they want to house sit

I'm at a point where I'm deciding where to move next, and I've found that the only real way to know a city is to actually live in it for a stretch — not visit as a tourist. House sitting lets me do that: spend real time in a neighborhood, run daily errands, see what the mornings and evenings feel like, all while being genuinely useful to someone who needs their home and pets looked after. I'm new to house sitting through this platform, so I'll be upfront about that. What I'm not new to is caring for a home and a dog day in and day out — I have a mini dachshund of my own, so walks, feeding schedules, and learning a pet's particular quirks are all second nature to me. I'd rather be honest about being new here and let my reliability speak for itself than oversell.

What can they bring to the assignment

Presence, mostly. Because I work from home, pets aren't left alone for long stretches, and nervous animals get the time they need to warm up to me at their own pace. Beyond that: I keep a home clean and treated as my own, I communicate clearly and stay reachable, and I follow instructions carefully rather than improvising — if something in the house acts up, I'll flag it and check with the owner before touching anything. I'm calm, self-sufficient, and I don't need hand-holding. You'd come home to a place that's exactly as you left it, and pets that have been well looked after.
