Reliable couple from northern Germany – practical, responsible, and great with cats and small pets

About this sitter

We are Hartmut (61) and Cristina (50), a reliable, non smoking couple from northern Germany. We both still work part-time – Hartmut in sales and Cristina in purchasing – so we are used to being organised, reliable, and well structured. We are looking for house sits for one to several weeks, ideally with cats or other small pets.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting is a conscious choice for us. It lets us combine our love of travel with a real sense of responsibility for someone else's home. Speaking several languages helps us settle into everyday local life wherever we go, rather than just travelling around as tourists. We also love animals and want owners to feel completely comfortable leaving their home in our care.

Their experience

We are new to house sitting, but we have plenty of relevant experience. We have had cats and small pets ourselves, so we are very comfortable around animals and treat them with care. Through our work, we are also used to being reliable, organised, and responsible. We are happy to provide personal references, copies of our IDs, and have a video call with you beforehand.

What can they bring to the assignment

Security & presence: Your home stays occupied and secure. We keep things tidy, air the house regularly, collect your mail, and make sure it looks cared for and lived in. Practical skills: Hartmut can handle small problems himself and find practical solutions, always after discussing them with you. Languages: Cristina speaks Spanish as her native language, and we are both comfortable communicating in German and English. We keep you regularly updated and are always happy to stay in touch.
