About this sitter

Hi, I’m Jean, but everyone calls me Jay. I’m a remote-working digital nomad who has been house and pet sitting around the world for the past few years. I’m pretty easygoing, clean and independent, and I tend to spend a lot of time at home when I’m sitting, usually working with a cat beside me or taking breaks for dog walks.
I’m open to sits in different parts of the world and particularly enjoy longer stays where I can settle into a routine with the pets and get to know the local area. I’m comfortable caring for multiple animals, plants and gardens, and I’m happiest with homeowners who are friendly, communicative and simply want someone they can trust to look after things while they’re away.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting lets me travel in a way that feels much more natural to me. I’d rather spend a few weeks living in a neighborhood, shopping locally and getting to know a place than rush through it as a tourist. Having animals around makes that experience even better.
I genuinely enjoy the everyday parts of pet sitting: morning walks, feeding time, having a cat wander across my laptop during a meeting, or just keeping an animal company. It’s also nice knowing that while I get to experience somewhere new, I’m giving someone else the freedom to travel knowing their pets and home are being cared for.

Their experience

Yes! I’ve been house and pet sitting internationally for over two years and have cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens and reptiles, including homes with multiple pets and longer-term sits. I’ve completed sits across the UK, Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia.
Before I started traveling, I also volunteered with animal rescue organizations in Mexico City for five years, so I’m comfortable with different personalities, including animals that need a little patience while getting used to someone new.
I’m also experienced with the “house” part of house sitting. I keep homes clean and tidy, care for plants and gardens, collect mail and keep an eye on anything that needs attention. What can they bring to the assignment

I bring reliability, flexibility and genuine care for both your pets and your home. Because I work remotely, I’m around much of the day and can easily maintain your pets’ normal routines, whether that means walks, feeding, playtime or simply keeping them company.
I’m clean, respectful and pretty self-sufficient, and I’m comfortable looking after the little things that come with maintaining a home while someone is away. I’m also a plant lover, so I’m happy to care for indoor plants, gardens and terraces. Most importantly, I communicate well and will keep you updated as much or as little as you prefer, so you can enjoy your time away without worrying about things back home.
