I'm relishing having quiet adult time and sharing that with other living creatures and nature. Reading. Lounging over coffee and/or tea. Practicing Tai Chi and meditation. Learning new things. I'm at a threshold in my life where being In-the-Moment and Present is important to me.

Why they want to house sit

I have recently relocated to Edmonds, WA to stay with a family member and help with childcare and housekeeping. The kids are in grade school and go back and forth between the parents. When I want to go do something or have time off I'm free to do so. It's a nice balance to be able to help out but also take time for *self-care (*something new for me).

Their experience

I have been caring for people, animals and homes since before there were apps to do so 😄 I've been a human caregiver for the elderly and an end of life caregiver but my preference is animals. Any and all of them. Like young children, animals are the innocents of our world. The honest souls who are always themselves. Who deserve love and give it unconditionally in return. I have cared for everything from mice/ hamsters up to Great Danes. While I don't have large animal experience (horses, cows, etc.) I look forward to a time when I can do that too. I am comfortable/experienced with giving eye drops, ear drops, oral medication and subcutaneous injections.

What can they bring to the assignment

I'm an organized, creative, problem solver. I love DIY projects and am very familiar and comfortable with using power tools. I'm not afraid to logically and safely tackle almost any type or size of project. (I was on the OSHA safety committee at the last job I had for 17 years.) This also makes me a #1 assistant in a project by being able to mostly anticipate the needs of the project owner. I may occasionally offer suggestions but I won't be bossy. And if I can learn something new from you, so much the better!
