About this sitter

We are a recently retired couple who spent more than 10 years living and working as professional caretakers of a private estate in the South of France. We are responsible, practical, tidy, non-smoking and enjoy an active lifestyle.

Now that we are retired, we are looking forward to slow travel and experiencing new places as locals rather than tourists. We are open to a variety of house sits, especially those where we can enjoy walking, hiking, exploring the area and, of course, the company of pets.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting feels like a natural fit for this next chapter of our lives. We love to travel, but prefer staying in a home and becoming part of a community rather than moving quickly from hotel to hotel.

After many years caring for someone else’s home professionally, we understand the peace of mind that comes from knowing your home and pets are being well cared for while you’re away. And for us, having a few four-legged companions makes a new place feel even more like home!

Yes! We have many years of professional experience caring for homes, properties and animals.

Before moving to France, we managed a retreat and worked in hospitality in the USA. We then spent more than 10 years as professional live-in caretakers of a large private estate in the South of France.

Our responsibilities included caring for the home, gardens and swimming pool, housekeeping, security, basic maintenance and coordinating contractors. Over the years, we have also cared for dogs, cats, chickens and goats.

We are accustomed to being trusted with a property while the owners are away and can provide a professional letter of reference from our former employer.
