About this sitter

We've been married for 30 years, and after the kids grew up and moved out, we sold our home, left our jobs, and are now working virtually as we travel the world. As we consider house sit opportunities, we're looking for comfortable spaces where we can enjoy the companionship of animals and explore new areas. Strong Wifi is important as Kris has an online job and James enjoys planning our next adventures.

As full-time travelers, we are incredibly clean, organized, and respectful of other people's spaces. We are both non-smokers. We treat everyone's home as if it were our own. We look for homeowners who value clear communication and want trustworthy people to keep their property and animals safe.

Why they want to house sit

Our love of travel and animals makes house sitting the perfect adventure for us. Kris works remotely, which means one of us will be at the house all day so your pets won't be lonely. As we travel, we value getting off the beaten path and being immersed in a community or culture. We're not tourists...we travel. And spending time in a home where we can cook meals, take walks with pets, and care for ourselves while we care for your pets would be invaluable.

Their experience

While we are new to professional house sitting, we have owned six homes over the past 30 years (condos, houses, and rental properties). We understand how to maintain a house, handle basic chores, and keep a property secure.

We also had a beloved dog named Guthrie (an Akita/Lab mix) who lived to be 14 years old. She was like our third child. Our daughter has a dog now and we're fortunate that when we're in the U.S., we often sit for her dog, Dunkin (a 6 year old Akita mix) when she travels for work.

What can they bring to the assignment

As previous homeowners, we're accustomed to the care and maintenance that goes into a home. From full remodels to minor repairs, we've always been hands-own homeowners. We love animals and frankly, we miss being around pets when we travel. We would love to care for yours while you're away.

We also bring other skills. Kris worked at a botanical garden for 10 years and loves plants. James is a former Federal Homeland Security professional and can be trusted to attend to the security and safety of your home and pets. You'll have peace of mind while you are away, knowing your home and pets are safe and well cared for.
