About this sitter

I’m an independent, responsible and adaptable person from Catalonia, Spain. I worked for many years in the social field, particularly as a social educator, and I now work independently on a personal development project, which allows me to organise my time and work remotely.

I enjoy travelling at a relaxed pace and spending enough time in one place to get to know its everyday life. I like having time to work, study, think, explore my surroundings and meet new people. I’m particularly interested in longer stays where I can establish a routine and feel part of the local community rather than simply passing through.

I enjoy places where I can be close to nature while also having opportunities for social life, cultural activities and learning the local language. Improving my English is one of my current goals, and I’m also interested in learning Italian.

I travel by car or campervan whenever practical. When travelling without a vehicle, I prefer locations with reliable public transport and everyday services within easy reach. I’m looking for a comfortable, respectful exchange where I can care for a home and its animals while enjoying the experience of living in a new place.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting brings together several things that are important to me: caring for animals, travelling slowly and experiencing everyday life in a new place.

I’ve had dogs and cats throughout my life, and I enjoy the relationship that develops when you spend time with them and get to know their personalities and routines. I find it rewarding to provide them with a familiar, caring presence while their owners are away.

I also appreciate the opportunity to stay in a real home rather than travel from one accommodation to another. It allows me to establish a routine, discover the local area, meet people and experience a place in a more meaningful way.

My recent five-week house and pet sit in the Cambridge area was a wonderful experience and confirmed that this way of travelling suits me very well. I would like to continue doing it, combining the responsibility of caring for animals and homes with my remote work and personal interests.

For me, a successful house sit is an exchange based on trust, clear communication and mutual respect, where the owners can travel with peace of mind and I can enjoy caring for their home and animals.

I’ve had dogs and cats throughout my life, and caring for animals has always been a natural part of it. Friends have often trusted me to look after their pets, just as they have looked after mine.

My experience includes caring for Carol’s dogs, Therma and Louis, Lourdes’s cat Paco, and a young, strong dog during a five-week house and pet sit in Great Abington, near Cambridge. These experiences have given me the opportunity to care for animals with different personalities, sizes and energy levels, and to adapt to their individual routines and needs.

I particularly enjoy getting to know each animal and building a relationship based on patience, affection and consistency. I’m comfortable with daily walks, feeding, play, companionship and maintaining the routines that help animals feel secure while their owners are away.

I’m attentive to animals’ behaviour and wellbeing, and I understand the importance of following the owners’ instructions and communicating promptly if anything unusual happens. I’m also happy to discuss the needs of other animals on a case-by-case basis, provided I feel confident that I can care for them properly.

My many years working as a social educator have given me strong skills in observation, communication, patience and adapting to different needs. I’m used to taking responsibility, dealing calmly with unexpected situations and respecting the trust that others place in me.

I understand that every home and every animal is different. I take time to learn the owners’ instructions, keep the home clean and tidy, and make sure the animals receive the attention, exercise and care they need. I’m also comfortable working independently and organising my day around agreed responsibilities.

Clear communication is important to me. I’m happy to provide regular updates, photos or messages in whatever way and frequency the owners prefer, so they can feel reassured while they are away. English is my third language, after Catalan and Spanish. Although my spoken English is not advanced, I can communicate in everyday situations and have always managed communication well when travelling and caring for animals.

Above all, I aim to make the experience easy and reassuring for the owners: knowing that their animals are well cared for, their home is respected and any important matter will be communicated clearly.
