About this sitter

I’m a 35-year-old professional based in the Czech Republic. I work remotely in a managerial position. I’m a very tidy, organised and responsible person and a lifelong animal lover. I have two dogs of my own and have spent the past five years raising and training guide dog puppies, so I’m very comfortable with dogs of different ages, personalities and needs. I also have experience with cats, rats and horses. I had pet rats for around eight years and adore them, and I’m a recreational horse rider who particularly enjoys hacking/trail riding and simply spending time around horses.

I have my own home and garden and genuinely enjoy gardening and taking care of plants.

I’m primarily interested in longer house sits where I can settle in, work and establish a normal daily routine rather than travel as a tourist. I’m very happy in quieter or more rural locations and particularly interested in sits with animals.

Why they want to house sit

I’m currently going through a period of change in my personal life and have decided to take some time and space for myself for the next couple of months. I’m looking for somewhere away from my usual environment where I can slow down, have some solitude and perspective, and continue working remotely.

Housesitting feels particularly right for me because animals are a very important part of my everyday life. During this time I won’t be able to be with my own dogs and the horses I normally spend time with, and I know I will miss that companionship.

I would therefore love to spend this time looking after someone else’s animals and home. Caring for animals gives structure to my days, and I would enjoy knowing that while I’m taking some time for myself, I’m also helping someone else travel or attend to their own plans knowing that their animals and home are being cared for.

I’m not looking to house sit primarily for tourism or as inexpensive holiday accommodation. I’m looking for a temporary home where I can live quietly, work and enjoy the company of animals.

Their experience

While I’m new to house sitting through this platform, I’m very experienced in caring for animals and managing a home.

My five years raising and training guide dog puppies have given me hands-on experience with puppies and adult dogs, including training, socialisation, establishing and maintaining routines, and recognising changes in behaviour or wellbeing. I’m comfortable following specific feeding, exercise and training instructions and understand the importance of consistency.

With horses, I’m a confident recreational rider with a gentle approach. I mainly enjoy hacking/trail riding rather than competing, although I have some dressage experience as well. I’m comfortable around horses and enjoy their care and company as much as riding.

I’m also comfortable caring for cats and small animals, particularly rats, which I kept for many years.

As a homeowner myself, I’m used to taking responsibility for a house and garden and dealing with the everyday practicalities that come with them.

What can they bring to the assignment

Most importantly, I would bring genuine care for your animals and respect for your home. I understand how difficult it can be to leave animals behind and how important it is to know that the person caring for them will pay attention to their individual personalities and routines rather than simply feed and walk them.

I’m calm, conscientious, and organised. My experience with guide dogs has taught me to be consistent and observant with animals and to use a patient and positive approach.

Because I work remotely, I will generally be at home for much of the day. I’m not planning to use house sits primarily for sightseeing, so your animals would have plenty of company and I’d be able to maintain their usual routines.

I’m comfortable following detailed instructions and dealing responsibly with problems if something unexpected happens. I’m also happy to send regular photos and updates while you’re away.

I would take good care of your home, plants and garden and keep everything clean and tidy, so that you can enjoy your time away without worrying about what is happening at home.
