Mature & Reliable Couple for House Sitting in Europe

About this sitter

We are Pablo (53), an urban development consultant and urban planner, and Stefania (50), a graphic designer. We are an Argentine couple who have been living in Italy for the past year and a half, while continuing to work remotely for companies in Argentina.

We are independent, calm and organised, and we enjoy travelling, discovering new places and getting to know the people and everyday life of each place we visit. We are also used to spending a lot of time at home because we both work online.

We are looking for house sits where we can take good care of someone’s home and, when needed, their pets. We particularly like the idea of staying for enough time to feel part of a place rather than simply passing through as tourists. We are open to different locations and types of homes, and we value clear communication with homeowners and a good understanding of what is expected before each sit.

Why they want to house sit

We discovered house sitting because it offers a different way of travelling. Rather than staying somewhere for just a few days as tourists, we like the possibility of spending more time in one place and experiencing its everyday life, surroundings and local culture.

Living in Italy has made us particularly interested in discovering more of the country and, eventually, other parts of Europe. We would also enjoy returning to places we already know and experiencing them from a more local perspective.

House sitting seems like a natural fit for our lifestyle because we both work remotely and can organise our work around a stay. At the same time, we like the idea that the arrangement is based on a genuine exchange: we have a comfortable place to live and work, while the homeowner can leave knowing that their home and pets are being looked after.

Their experience

We are new to house sitting, so we do not yet have experience through house-sitting platforms.

However, we are experienced in managing our own home and daily responsibilities, and we have a dog of our own, Venezia, a 7-year-old Miniature Poodle who is calm and well behaved. We understand that looking after someone else's home requires care, respect, attention to detail and good communication.

We are approaching our first house sits seriously and responsibly, and we are happy to provide any additional information or references that may help a homeowner feel comfortable choosing us.

What can they bring to the assignment

We can bring reliability, flexibility and the ability to be present at home. Since we both work remotely, we are normally around during the day, which can be particularly useful when looking after pets or simply keeping an eye on the house.

We are accustomed to taking care of our own home and dealing with everyday practical matters.

We are happy to take care of normal household routines, plants, mail and pets, according to the homeowner's instructions. We also understand that every home is different, so we would rather agree clearly in advance on what needs to be done than make assumptions.

Most importantly, we would treat the home as if it were our own and keep the homeowner informed if anything unexpected arises.
