Lively retired couple seeking housesitting/petsitting opportunities in the UK and Europe

About this sitter

My husband and I love traveling. Now that I am retiring, we want to spend time together going on new adventures. (We are new to this platform, as our previous sits have always come through folks we know.)
We are both lifelong animal lovers, with decades of cat and dog experience, as both pet owners and sitters (references available). Additionally, he has extensive equestrian experience, riding and upkeep. I also helped out on my Godmother’s small farm growing up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, so willing and able to handle basic farm chores as well.

Why they want to house sit

Housesitting affords us the opportunity to enjoy each other, some wonderful animals, and new scenery. My husband has been diagnosed with early stage Parkinson’s disease. He moves a bit slower and has a tremor. I mention this for full disclosure. Staying fit and active has been a lifelong joy for us both, but is particularly important for him (along with medication) to maintain his health. He currently plays table tennis three days a week and coaches the local Scotland Parkinson’s team, so his symptoms are very well managed.

Their experience

We are both experienced as owners and sitters. We can handle cats, small to medium dogs, other house pets such as birds or guinea pigs. We have even cared for a large bearded lizard! We are available for short to long term, depending on your needs.

What can they bring to the assignment

We both come from professional backgrounds, me from healthcare project management, he from mediation. We are trustworthy and understand what it means to keep a home secure and tidy. I am a keen plant person, so also happy to baby houseplants or work outside in your garden. I have a passion for cooking, so I am always wanting to try new cuisine.
