About this sitter

I'm a licensed American therapist working remotely and traveling the world. I love getting to explore new places and meet people of all different backgrounds with experiences distinct from my own. I've also been enamored with the natural world since I was a small child and love to spend time in forests and around big trees.

I'm looking for a place that allows me to both focus on work while also getting to spend time with animals (I'm a dog lover, but have cared for rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, and ducks) and explore the local area. Ideally I'd be within walking distance or short public transit routes to basic necessities, and have the freedom to do a little bit of exploring outside of the home and pets I'm caring for.

Why they want to house sit

Housesitting is a win in so many ways for me:
I get the company of animals without owning them, while also having all the amenities of a short-term rental (including good wifi!), while also getting to connect with locals, and all without having to pay.
Until I find the community I want to stay in, it's a great way to travel and yet feel at home at the same time. I find staying in hotels or even Airbnbs to be isolating and expensive, and after having a dog for 14 years, I really miss having a dog around. Housesitting works great for me for the time being.

Their experience

Yes! I have done at least 8 house/pet sits in the last year, and too many to list over many years. I've competed housesits in Alaska, Idaho, Wyoming, Oregon, and New Zealand, and probably some places I've forgotten even. I'm a nomad at heart and this kind of lifestyle works well for me.

What can they bring to the assignment

I can bring years of experience, attentiveness, and attunement to the animals and home under my care, honest and direct communication, emotional regulation and maturity, patience, humor, and a strong sense of ethics. I can also bring chocolate if you've got a craving :)
