Reliable remote-working sitter – pets, garden & home care

About this sitter

I'm Gionata, an Italian developer and consultant. I work remotely and have spent the last few years moving between southern France and Sardinia, often living in my 1986 camper van. I grew up in the countryside of the Val Trebbia, so quiet rural life feels natural to me rather than isolating. I'm looking for a longer winter sit in the Italian countryside: somewhere peaceful where I can look after an animal and a property properly, and focus on my own projects. I'm comfortable on my own, and equally happy to share the space when the owners are around.

Why they want to house sit

My work lets me live anywhere, and I'd rather live somewhere meaningful than in anonymous rentals. A few months in one place gives me the calm I need for my personal projects: I'm writing a noir fiction podcast and developing a cat card game alongside my software work. In exchange, I bring steady, reliable presence. For me house sitting isn't a free holiday. It's a responsibility I actually enjoy.

Their experience

I lived with a wonderful cocker belonging to a former partner: daily walks, feeding, and getting to know their habits and moods. I've also lived with a cat for years, so I know how much an animal relies on routine and company. Living in a camper van, I've set up and run my own off-grid solar system, so I'm used to monitoring batteries, managing consumption sensibly and adapting to the weather.
