Reliable and Caring House and Pet Sitter

About this sitter

am a retired Spanish language teacher who worked at the University of Bristol for 30 years. I am responsible, caring and considerate, and I enjoy discovering new places and experiencing different ways of life.

I am looking for house sits that allow me to combine my love of travel with the pleasure of looking after animals in their own homes. I would welcome the opportunity to explore new places, both in the UK and abroad, while ensuring that homeowners can enjoy their time away knowing that their home and pets are in safe and caring hands.

Why they want to house sit

Animals have always been an important part of my life. I shared 18 wonderful years with my cat and 18 years with my dog, Daisy, a Jack Russell whom I absolutely adored. After they passed away and I retired, I decided to enjoy the freedom to travel. However, I still miss having animals around me.

House sitting seems like the perfect combination of two things I love: travelling and spending time with animals. I would love to discover new places while giving pets companionship, affection and care in the familiar surroundings of their own homes.

Their experience

Yes. I have many years of experience caring for my own pets, including a cat and a dog who were part of my life for 18 years each. Daisy, my Jack Russell, even used to accompany me to the University of Bristol, where she would happily sit in my office while I taught. The students loved her, and we enjoyed walks together during lunch breaks. Coco the cat and Daisy the dog, both had multiple needs in old age, and I am very confident to say I have the patience and care to look after sick animals.

I always had dog, cats, tortoises and birds when I was young, which they were part of the family and were very much loved.

I have also looked after other people's pets and understand the importance of respecting their individual needs, routines and personalities. I enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, secure and well cared for while their owners are away.
I grew up in Argentina but I have lived in the UK for over 35 years. I have Italian citizenship and have spent time living in Italy, Spain and Portugal. That experience makes me adaptable to other languages and cultures.

What can they bring to the assignment

can offer reliability, maturity, a responsible attitude and genuine affection for animals. Having worked at a university for 30 years, I understand the importance of commitment, organisation and keeping to agreed responsibilities.

I would follow your pets' usual routines, give them plenty of attention and affection, and respect your home as if it were my own. I understand how important it is for owners to feel reassured while they are away, and I would be happy to keep in touch and provide updates about their pets.

I would approach every house sit with care and consideration, aiming to make the experience as stress-free as possible for both the pets and their owners.
