About this sitter

Hi, I’m Esperanza! 😊 I’m originally from Mexico and have been living in Canada since 2009. I’m a Canadian citizen and work for myself in tech consulting, mostly from home, which gives me a flexible lifestyle that works very well with house and pet sitting.

I’ve been active on TrustedHousesitters, where I’ve completed house and pet sits and received lovely testimonials from homeowners about the care I’ve provided to their pets and homes. I’m hoping to bring that same positive experience to homeowners here as well. I’ve also helped with Airbnb and property management, so I understand the importance of keeping a home well cared for, clean, organized and secure while the owners are away.

I’ve cared for dogs, cats and other animals with different personalities, ages and routines. I’m comfortable with senior pets, medication and special routines, and I always take the time to understand what each pet needs and follow the homeowner’s instructions carefully.

I genuinely enjoy the house-sitting side of things as well. I’m happy to take care of the everyday responsibilities that help keep your home running smoothly while you’re away — keeping the house clean and tidy, bringing in mail and packages, taking out garbage and recycling, watering plants and gardens, looking after the property, and generally making sure everything is safe, cared for and in good order. I’m also happy to coordinate if a delivery, service or tradesperson needs access to the home.

I’m quiet, responsible and respectful, and I treat other people’s homes as I would my own. I don’t smoke, prefer a healthy life-style, the outdoors, and I’m comfortable with a peaceful home environment. Since I work remotely, I’m often able to spend a lot of time at home with your pets and keep them company throughout the day.

Animals have always been a special part of my life. I have a particular soft spot for cats, but I love dogs, birds and animals in general. I enjoy giving them companionship, affection, walks, playtime and whatever routine helps them feel comfortable and secure. I also understand that some animals need space and time to warm up, so I’m happy to let them set the pace.

Outside of house sitting, I love being in nature. I enjoy walking, hiking, cycling, gardening, bird watching, lakes, forests and simply spending time outdoors. I also enjoy cross-country skiing in winter. One of the things I love about house sitting is discovering different places while caring for animals and becoming part of their routine.

I work in technology and can also be helpful with computers, websites and other digital tasks if something comes up during a sit. I speak English, French and Spanish fluently, and some German.

I’m interested in house and pet sits across Canada and Mexico, and I’m particularly interested in longer stays or combining sits when the dates work. I’m also happy to consider shorter stays when they fit naturally into my schedule.

For me, a successful house sit means more than simply looking after the pets.
