About this sitter

Hi! I’m Makkah, but you can call me M. 😊 People tend to spend a lot of time trying to pronounce Makkah correctly, so I make it easy—M works!

I’m responsible, reliable, trustworthy, a little quirky, and someone who genuinely takes pride in caring for a home. I love clean, peaceful spaces, beautiful architecture, plants, and homes that feel special. I’m naturally an organizer, and I tend to treat the space I’m staying in with the same care I would want someone to give my own.

Professionally, I work as an IT consultant. It can be demanding work, so when I step away I really value peace and quiet. For the remainder of 2026, I’m intentionally slowing things down and giving myself time to recharge before jumping back into work.

So if you’re looking for someone who plans to throw parties and fill your house with people, I’m probably not your person. 😂 My idea of a great stay is much closer to my own little Vipassana retreat—quiet mornings, peaceful evenings, taking care of the home, and enjoying the stillness.

Why they want to house sit

I love beautiful and interesting homes. I actually have a “dream board” of the kinds of spaces I’d someday love to create for myself, so there’s something really special about temporarily experiencing different homes, architecture and ways of living.

I also have a bucket-list goal of touching every continent. Australia, Antarctica and South America are still waiting for me, and there are huge parts of the U.S. and Canada I haven’t experienced yet.

But I’m not looking to race around sightseeing. Right now, what appeals to me most is finding one peaceful place where I can settle in, be still, recharge and finish 2026 quietly. If I can cross one more beautiful place off my bucket list while doing that, even better. 😊

Their experience

Yes. I have experience caring for homes, plants, cats, dogs and even a tortoise.

I’ve also been accused of being a little weird because I talk to animals like they’re people. 😂 I think animals understand and communicate far more than we sometimes give them credit for.

Cats particularly amuse me. They like their humans to believe the human is in charge, while I’m fairly certain the cat knows otherwise. They disappear under a bed, reappear in exactly the same place later like they’ve traveled through a sci-fi portal, and expect everyone to behave as though nothing happened.

Dogs are different—wonderful, expressive and usually much more appreciative of attention and affirmation. And then there are tortoises, who I’ve discovered can have surprisingly bold personalities of their own!
I pay attention to those differences. I’m patient with animals and good at noticing changes in behavior that may indicate they need something. I also have an interest in Reiki and complementary wellness practices, although of course I always follow an owner’s instructions and defer to appropriate veterinary care when an animal is sick.

While I enjoy animals, I’ve learned that my strongest fit is really house sitting—caring for the home itself, plants and property, with pets being a welcome addition when the situation is right.

What can they bring to the assignment

I’m one of those people who genuinely enjoys making a home feel cared for.

I love organizing, cleaning, plants and interior spaces. I work in technology, so I also have fun experimenting with AI tools for things like interior design, plant identification and home projects. If a homeowner ever wants ideas or help organizing something, I’m completely in my element. But I also understand an important rule: your home is your home. I don’t rearrange or redesign anything unless I’ve specifically been invited to.

So what are you waiting for? Invite me to. Hehehe. 😄

Plants are another love of mine. I’ve rescued more than a few struggling plants for friends and family, and I get an absurd amount of satisfaction from coming back later and seeing them thriving. 🌱

I’m also particular about how I leave a home. I like to use my final day to clean, wash the linens and towels I’ve used, tidy everything, and prepare the space for the homeowner’s return. My intention is that when you come back to your space, you don’t have to do anything but relax, relate, release.
There’s something really satisfying about leaving a home knowing the person returning can simply walk through the door and exhale.

I may not have testimonials on MindMyHouse yet because I’m new here. But everybody has a first sit on a new platform. I hope my first homeowner here ends the experience feeling very lucky that they took the chance on.

M. 😊
