Hi! We are Roman and Shyrai — welcome to our profile! We are a young working couple who love both animals and travel. We are not originally from Europe, but we were lucky enough to meet each other in Slovakia and start our life together here. We still don’t know for sure where we will live in the future, so we try to travel around Europe as much as we can. Since we don’t work remotely, we can’t leave home for long periods, but we would be happy to look after your home and beloved pets while we are on holiday. Our English is not fluent yet, but we can communicate through simple messages, translation tools and video calls. We hope this won’t be a problem. However, we do speak Slovak, Russian, and Kazakh.

Why they want to house sit

I found out about MindMyHouse from an Instagram post and immediately thought: what a great opportunity to combine travel with the chance to spend time with animals! Isn’t it wonderful to travel in a more interesting way and feel like a local instead of staying in a hotel? Besides, we would both love to get a cat, but that isn’t possible in a rented flat. And since we travel a lot, it wouldn’t be fair to get a pet and constantly ask someone else to look after it. So our love of animals is the second — but no less important — reason we are here. We don’t just want to house-sit; it matters to us that there are animals in the home, so we can give them our love and care!

Their experience

To be honest, we have never house-sat for anyone before, but everyone has to start somewhere, right? That said, we are used to keeping a rented home in perfect order: our landlord checks the flat every month, so cleanliness and tidiness are part of our daily routine. As for animals, I grew up with a toy terrier, and Shyrai has had two cats. We fully understand what is expected of people who are trusted with a home and pets, and we promise to live up to those expectations by caring for your home and pets.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are calm, tidy and responsible, and we are ready to follow your instructions. If you would like, we can send daily photos and videos of your pets and keep you updated. We promise to treat your home with care and keep it in the condition you left it in. We will not invite guests. Our goal is for you to be able to leave with peace of mind and not worry about your pets.
