About this sitter
We are a healthy, energetic and practical, 67 year old couple. We used to own an old farmhouse with many animals (dogs, cats, sheep, free range chickens, geese and guinea fowl) and organic veggie patch.
We now live on a Narrow Boat, navigating the Inland Waterways of England and Wales during the Summertime and spend the Winter months abroad.
We are a resourceful and unpretentious couple, tidy, honest and dependable.
We have full experience of water management (off grid) electricity generators and solar power.
We are non smokers and would only consider home owners who are the same....... We also need a good wifi connection.
Why they want to house sit
With time on our hands, we would welcome the chance to look after a property/gardens and take care of any animals. We have our own car, so remote locations do not pose any problems for us. We can send a daily email/WhatsApp update to you if preferred.

Excellent couple, highly recommended
This the fourth time Roger has house sat for us. Roger and Viv have been brilliant, hard working and reliable house sitters for our off grid farm. They’ve taken good care of the animals and worked hard on our veggie plots and done odd maintenance jobs which meant it was a delight to come home and find little jobs done. We gave them a challenge of a young dog we had just rescued who couldn’t travel with us and we came back to a fit, happy and healthy young dog. So grateful to Viv for odd repairs to the dog beds and things chewed! A good team, welcome back any time and highly recommended.

Wow! What a lovely, friendly, energetic, amazing, fantastic couple!
Wow - Lovely, friendly, energetic, amazing, fantastic! What more can we say except that we have asked them to return later in the year when we are due to go away again! Roger and Viv did a lot more than was expected. The enthusiasm they put into doing odd jobs around the garden was a great help, from trimming the hedge, cutting firewood, creating a new border on the stream for some newly acquired tree ferns, planting out the veg, to mowing the huge lawn, all this on top of looking after Gucci, our cat, keeping him company and ensuring he was well fed and watered! Communication was great, they passed on phone messages when relevant. It was good to know they took time out to explore the surrounding areas and they found some interesting picnic sites and areas to visit! We can highly recommend Roger and Viv as house-sitters, our house and garden were clean, neat and tidy on our return and Gucci was very relaxed! Get lucky!
You will indeed be lucky if you manage to get Colette and Roger to sit for you - I had to wait almost two years. Firstly they have so many repeat sits ( always a good sign), secondly they like to meet you and the animals before agreeing (a very professional and reassuring approach) and thirdly, once vetted, you then have to get lucky that their busy schedule will fit you in. Believe me, they are worth the wait. A gleaming home, very happy exercised dogs and a home cooked meal to return to, all perfect. What more can I say, apart from the dogs and myself would welcome them back again anytime. Highly recommended.

Large, detached, mountainside villa in La Pilica, Turre
Colette & Roger looked after our home for 8 weeks during the coldest and wettest winter this area of Spain has ever experienced. Their care of our home was faultless and our previously over weight 10 year-old cocker spaniel shed pounds from the daily long walks and visits to the beach. Excellent - they'd be our first choice again
Roger and Colette were brilliant caring for our off-grid farmhouse.They are amazing and highly recommended; resourceful, practical, sensitive to the care & wellbeing of our pets & property, great communicators, very capable. They left the house immaculate, managed our solar electric system carefully during bad weather and were unfazed by a very leaky roof during intense rain. Cats were well cared for, even designed a great cat feeder for a gap until we returned. Worked wonders on our veg plot and really went the extra mile, visiting from another house sit because of our delayed return.

Highest possible recommendation
The highest recommendation we can possibly give Colette and Roger is the fact that we now plan all our vacations around when they are available to look after our dog. No one else will do. They have now become good friends and we would recommend them in an instant

Reliable And Efficient
Colette and Roger looked after our house and animals (dogs, horses, sheep, pigs) in Spain for about five weeks. They proved to be reliable, trustworthy and efficient. All was well on our return. We would certainly have them again.

Ideal sitters
Colette and Roger house sat for me in May 2015. Between them they looked after my pets, house, garden and car! Seedlings were planted by Roger and have produced a plentiful harvest. My car was cleaned and given new wipers. Repairs were made around the house. Colette cleaned my outhouse to provide comfortable accommodation for my cats (all 21 of them). She could not have been more meticulous when looking after them and my dog, even removing ticks as it was that time of year in Spain. I can recommend them without hesitation.

Always welcome at our house!
I am pleased to give this couple a recommendation. They are not only excellent house sitters, they are now good friends. We met them through this site a several years ago and they have looked after our home and pets with wonderful care. When you have a house sitter you need to know that the people left in your home are honest and will keep your house and animals safe and loved. No problems with this couple. Having had some bad house sitters in the past, I can go away and relax when Collette and Roger are there. Grab them if you can!

Going the extra mile
Colette and Roger are exceptional sitters. They took excellent care of our house, garden and, most importantly, our cat. They kept in regular contact before and during the sits. The fact that they sat for us several times shows how satisfied we were with them. Roger has practical skills and enjoys doing odd jobs around the property. Colette has a real affinity with animals. I recommend them wholeheartedly.
