About this sitter

My partner and I are youngish retirees, UK/Kiwi teacher, 66and SA/Kiwi diesel fitter, 68 We have been house-sitting in New Zealand ,Australia and Singapore over the past 10 years and more recently Spain for several "repeat" sits..
We have both received 3 doses of the Astra Zenaca vaccine and have certificates with QR code to demonstrate this.
We are both active (cycling and walking), non smokers of sober habits.
.Terry is very practical (he built our yacht which we sailed from South Africa to Australia and then to SE Asia, and recently to the Med and now back to Australia) and can be relied on to sort out any problem of a practical nature.
Since we have no pets of our own, we love caring for other people's pets as if they were our own.
When not house sitting, we live on our modest home in Bundaberg but look forward to travelling and exploring new places from time to time.

Why they want to house sit

Our home has been a yacht since 1994. Whilst we enjoy the "simple" life with little in the way of modern conveniences, house sitting allows us to travel and live in different countries and gave us a welcome change from life "on the high seas"!

Their experience

We have been house-sitting/pet minding in Singapore and Spain over the last 10 years, and prior to that, did several assignments in Australia and New Zealand over a period of 6 years when we were registered with a local website, so we have done many more than the 6 indicated on this site. We have been lucky to establish good relationships with home owners who have invited us back for repeat assignments on many occasions.
Our assignments have been varied including rural small holdings to large houses with swimming pools and gardens to maintain and usually a pet or two; dogs, cats, birds and horses.
We can give contact details of happy home owners who would be happy to give a testimonial, or ask them to post one.

What can they bring to the assignment

Our experiences have been on small holdings to apartments requiring basic garden and pool maintenance, as well as the usual household chores,mail forwarding and of course caring for a variety of animals as if they were our own.
We are both very conscientious and house-proud, living in a house is still a novelty for us!
Terry is very handy with fixing things (he built our yacht) and we both love animals.
Living on the boat, we are used to a simple lifestyle, at the same time, we are very adaptable, independent and resilient. We are very mindful of our water usage and power consumption having depended on solar and wind power whilst sailing.
We will have our own car, so transport is not a problem.
