About this assignment
Looking for a calm and tender, cat loving person (or two): My two elderly cats love to be caressed a lot, they just prefer people who move and speak tenderly.
You need to accept them jumping on your bed (closing the door is impossible, the female would scratch on it for ever). They have a cat flap and go out in the garden as they like; in winter though they usually prefer staying inside and they love the company of a friendly human.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Caress and feed the cats, mainly. Empty the letter box and leave the apartment reasonably clean.
They are 13 and 14 years old, the male has a food allergy. In case one of them should have a severe problem, you should be able to take them to a vet. Let's be optimists, I write this just to be sure that you could handle a case of troubles.
On 31st December you should stay at home with the cats in the evening, as they are a bit scared of fireworks.
What are the good features of the property and location
Nice apartment on the ground floor with a view of the garden, quiet area and quiet house. There is a big living room with sofa and table, in the small guest room I have a double bed with 2 matresses each 90cm large (not exactly the same hight unfortunately).
The apartment is located 5 minutes walk to the river and to forests and about 25 minutes walk to the city center of Bern, close to food stores and even closer to the tramway that takes you in 5 minutes to the train station/city center.
The Wifi is of my neighbours above, not strong in the guest room, but good in the living room.
Bern is lovely small city offering a lot of opportunities, whether you are interested in architecture, culture or nature you can find nice places. You can also use my E-Bike.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
If you don't smoke and do not use a lot of perfume, it's an advantage. If you even speak some german words, that would be bonus.
This is very short-termed because the sitter I had for this period cannot come. In case you were interested but not for the whole 4 weeks, let me know and maybe we will find a solution.
Can I bring my own pets?

Perfectly organized cat and home sit, with two lovely cats
I was lucky to catsit in Bern for Corleone and Carlina - two intelligent and independant cats. Carlina is very generous with her loud purrs, she is a master of keeping eye on the birds outside. Corleone is a gentle soul, he loved to cuddle and sleep next to me while I was reading. Every evening they put on a show for me, when they played with each other and their toys. I really got some good laughs while spending time with them. Elisa made me very welcome in her home. Her instructions about the house, the cats, the area etc. were so comprehensive and clear, I never had to wonder about anything - the answers were all in her instuctions. Elisa went out of her way to make my stay in Bern really great, I appreciated that a lot. I felt very comfortable in her home, it felt as if I was staying with a friend. I would recommend anyone to come and catsit at Elisas.

A perfect house/cat sitting in Bern
Elisa picked me and my wife from a tram stop. She welcomed us very warmly and cooked us a tasty dinner. We’ve already had lots of information in written form, but couple of questions Elisa gladly answered. We soon met two most adorable cats. They were cautious at first but quickly got used to us. They were quite happy to be pampered. They even came for cuddles in the morning to our bed. We kept in touch throughout the whole time. We are very grateful to Elisa that we’ve had the opportunity to stay in her comfortable apartment over Christmas and New Year and at the same time visited amazing city of Bern. Sit 18. - 24.10.2021
Elisa hat mich an der Tramstation abgeholt, alles zu den Katzen und der Wohnung gut erklärt und anschliessend ein feines Abendessen gekocht. Die Kommunikation war gut, die Katzen waren lieb, manchmal kamen sie morgens zu mir ins Bett um ihre Streicheleinheiten abzuholen, welche sie auch wärend des Tages liebten. Der Sit ist super um die Stadt Bern und die Umgebung zu erkunden. Ich kann diesen Sit bei Elisa und ihren zwei Lieblingen empfehlen.

Perfect stay!
Elisa gab mir und meinem Mann die Möglichkeit ein Monat lang in Bern zu bleiben. Wir haben die Zeit mit ihren zwei sehr süssen, lieben und zuvertraulichen Katzen sehr genossen. Elisa ist sehr nett und freundlich. Vor ihrer Abreise hat sie uns alles münllich und schriftlich erklärt/ vieles gezeigt. Wir hatten guten Kontakt auch während und nach dem "cat sit". Elisas Wohnung ist hell und gemütlich, liegt sehr günstig nah Zentrum. Sie hat nette Nachbaren, die uns bei Bedarf geholfen hätten. Perfect Bern cat sit stay!
