About this assignment

Someone who wants to stay in a great Tacoma neighborhood, a short walk to restaurants, coffee shops, movie theater, bowling alley, ice cream, farmers market and more and care for a few animals but still have plenty of time to explore Tacoma!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Looking for someone to feed and care for an energetic dog and a two friendly cats. The dog and cats both fed twice a day and let in and out. The dog could use a walk or two every day. The gecko just needs water and the light turned on and off. And the tortoise needs food put in every day.

What are the good features of the property and location

5 bedroom house with vegetable gardens in Proctor district of North Tacoma. Coffee shops, restaurants, bowling, movie theater, ice cream, doughnuts and so much more all within short 5 minute walk! Lots to explore in our neighborhood and Tacoma in general. Point Defiance park with beaches, trails and zoo/aquarium. You will have plenty to do and see if you want or you can just chill around the house.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Probably need to like animals! The dog is energetic upon first meeting but then is mellow and affectionate. Cats are friendly and love attention. Other than that it should be relatively easy with plenty of time to explore and/or relax. Thanks for considering!

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Adorable Pets

I enjoyed hanging out with Edison, he’s a very sweet dog. And Kumo, the cuddly lap cat. They both sat on the back porch with me every morning, in the beautiful gardens. Taking care of the chickens was easy. I stayed in a comfortable guest room. Naoimi and Bryon are very kind, good people.

Highly recommended homeowner

Bryan and Naomi's home is warm and charming. Their neighborhood is safe and great for long walks with Edison, who has energy to burn. He is a strong dog, but he is obedient and was well mannered on our walks. Their cat Kumo is very affectionate when he wants to be. Their chickens and ducks are beautiful! They are the highlight of a wild, fantastic garden full of veggies, herbs, and flowers. You will enjoy a morning on the back porch after feeding the birds, picking a few tomatoes, and tossing a tennis ball to Edison. Though my stay was short and I didn't need to contact the owners often, I got prompt and helpful replies when I did reach out. I walked everywhere I went in Rainier Beach--the grocery store, bus stops, restaurants, and light rail didn't feel too far for me. Some sitters will prefer a car, especially because some of the hills are steep. Enthusiastically recommended!
