4 terriers - Mum and 3 x 4 year old pups; bunnies, geese, and hens.,.& fish lake
SPECIFIC DATES:
Just been told we need to be away from 27th July to 2nd August - you may of course stay long if you wish. But will do need our pets to be looked after. Dogs, rabbits, hens etc.
When we are not here to look after our small friendly menagerie . We have 4 friendly terriers who require lots of cuddles and walks, they are great fun. We have 6 hens, a cockerel, several rabbits, 2 friendly geese, that get shut in night and let out mornings.
We live in a quiet rural location in beautiful countryside, sourrounded by fields, woods and vines. The house is comfortable, gazebo and garden swimming pool for the summer. We have 2 gites which are let out in the summer.
We are near the town of Duras with the chateaux worth a visit, as are a lot of the vineyards and tastings that are there for the sampling of their wonderful wines. St Foye La Grande and Bergerac also have lovely Saturday markets to explore and boast wonderful architecture, as does Issigac on a Sunday morning.
At this time of the year there will still be some night markets on, where you can go evenings, to join in the fun, dancing local food stalls etc.
Be prepared to help out as per above, flexible and fun and be surrounded by our menagerie.
We work from home (we are not yet retired), so we do have an office in the house that keeps us busy most of the time. This will be handles remotely whilst we are away, Christina may be in one day if necessary to do anything.
Any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Yes
Restrictions: If well trained, friendly and don't chase hens and rabbits.

French Country Life
Tina and David are both extremely affable and gracious owners of Lê Petite Pourquet, a French country homestead. We had the pleasure of making their company just briefly before they set off on their adventures and we began ours. They were very helpful in helping us get our bearings and settle in with the animals and their routines. The highlight of being in the countryside of France can best be experienced with the aid of a dog, or better still, four of the happiest play things on the planet! Che, Daisy, Rosie and Buzz are always up for anything, just so long as they can be a part of it. They excel at romping through the local vineyards and fields of clover, or through the trails in nearby woods which they know well and can lead the way. However, they do really enjoy cuddling up on the sofa to help watch a movie after dinner. We enjoyed exploring many small villages near and far, market days and wine tastings. And experiencing firsthand the history and architecture was right in our wheelhouse. If you love animals and want to experience the heart of France and the rural life in a beautiful part of the country, then Tina and David are lovely and helpful souls.

Le Petit Porquet
May 2021 - We had a wonderful time staying in Tina and David's beautiful, fully appointed, gite situated just across the driveway from their home in Dordogne. We stayed for 6 weeks and enjoyed helping out with the vegetable garden, large yard, pool and their many pets. Their property is idyllic, with fields, a large pond, donkeys (which now have new homes), goats, geese, chickens, and most important of all, 5 amazing Jack Russell Terriers. The dogs are super sweet, energetic and cuddly. During our time at Le Petit Porquet, Saint Serin, we became friends over shared tasks and several delicious shared meals. While there, our primary purpose was to make it possible for Tina and David to travel a couple of long weekends. Other than that, when they were home, the amount of work we did to help out was entirely up to us. This arrangement worked out well as there is a lot to discover in the area!

Dordogne, France with Bastide towns nearby
We loved staying in Tina and David's cozy stone gite while helping out on their rural property for 5 weeks. It was a joy getting to know their many sweet and rascally pets. There is a lot to keep busy with the cottage garden, extensive flower beds, pool and 5 dogs, 2 donkeys, 2 goats, chickens and geese, but we enjoyed working as a team to make sure everyone had a good work/play balance in the weeks we were around. Tina and David are great hosts and we were able to explore the nearby medieval towns, local markets and shared several delicious and beautiful meals together. We came to help give them a chance to take a few days respite from their work and left having two new friends. We will definitely be back for more fun in the future!
