About this assignment

I need someone to look after my 2 lovely cats (and sometimes my 2 dogs- for at least 3 weeks during this sit) as well as keep up the plants and grounds around my farmhouse in the Alps.

Here are the current dates I am looking for:
Beginning of June I will be in and out and then from the end of June until mid-August I will be mostly away.

You can possible stay longer on either end if you wish.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The dogs will need at least 3 short walks during the day. The dog walker will come and take them once a day further afield. They cannot be let off the leads. Feeding the animals, cleaning the litter daily, (walking the dogs multiple times a day if they are there), cutting grass, tending the veg and fruit plots, weeding, deadheading, and maybe collecting vegetables/fruit. Generally loving on the animals. If you are open to cleaning then I rent my little chalet out and could also use cleaning and check-in/checkout help (this is paid of course)

What are the good features of the property and location

My home is in the town of St Gervais Les Bains, about a 25min walk to town. There are also regular buses. If you have a car then Megève is a 20min drive and Chamonix is a 25min drive. I live next to the public pool, tennis courts, mini-golf and ice rink. There is excellent hiking all around and paragliding and rock climbing. The gondola to the Megeve/St Gervais ski area is a 5 minute bus ride or 20minute walk away. From town you can get the tram up to the top of Les Houches which is part of the Chamonix ski area and also is nice for hiking. Les Contamines is a 20min bus ride away and has great snow when other areas don't.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

You must love animals and be kind and gentle and patient. The animals sleep on the bed usually and do not get locked out of any rooms (not all but Riva the smaller dog does and the cats sometimes do as well). Vet skills or a green thumb are a plus. The duration of the stay can be flexible as there are many spare rooms.
