What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
I have a cat that needs to be fed twice day, played with and given positive attention. Cat litter to be emptied. Mail to be brought in, a few house plants to water.
What are the good features of the property and location
I live in Santa Fe which is a very desirable tourist destination....so much to do and see here. I live in a warm, cozy, modest house in the middle part of town, walking distance to a major bus line, the light rail, walking trails, locally owned restaurants, breweries, yoga, Nia, small music venue, etc.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
I have some allergies and mild chemical sensitivities so need people to avoid wearing strongly fragranced chemical based perfumes and colognes while in my home or using laundry soap with fragrance. You may use my laundry soap if needed. Essential oils are fine.
Can I bring my own pets?
No, sorry.

I house sit for Candace in April 2025. The weather was great, the older home is comfortable and in a great location. It is a short easy drive to the Plaza, the Capitol, the Railyards and the galleries at Canyon Road. There are numerous Museums, places to hike and Albuquerque, the Turquoise Trail and Kasha Katawe Tent rocks are not far away. The house was clean and I had a very comfortable bed. Kiki (the cat) was good and easy to care for. We really enjoyed our evenings watching Candace's big screen TV (that's when Kiki likes attention. Candace gave me great instructions and we kept in touch while she was in Colorado. It was a great house/pet sit.

Santa Fe -- cat sit
Pet and house sitting for Candace was pleasant and enjoyable. Her cat, Kiki is a sweetheart! Kiki is very laid back, likes head rubs, playing with toys then prefers to take it easy and relax. Caring for her is basically feeding and cleaning the litter box. Candace left detailed written instructions for care of home and cat. We communicated via text and she was responsive to updates on Kiki and no issues occured during my sit.. Candace home is comfortable, quiet and conveniently located to Santa Fe sites. I was able to visit historic sites, take in the botanical gardens, art and free music at the plaza. I would recommend this sit if you get the opportunity.

GREAT Little Santa Fe House in Town
This was the most comfortable place I've ever stayed with the sweetest home owner and cat one could ever hope for! The house is easy to care for and cozy to the max! Kiki the cat will test you at first to make sure you're obedient to her needs, but after an mutual arrangement has been established, life with Kiki is a very comfortable place to be. The bath tub hot handle is on the right. Neighborhood is 100% walkable! The restaurants in the area have been featured on "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" on the Food Network Channel too!

Comfortable House, Affectionate Pets
It was a pleasure to look after Candace's house and spend three enjoyable weeks with Chico the dog and Kiki the cat. Candace was very friendly, and great about explaining what needed to be done. We were in contact with her during her absence, but never had any problems. I would wholeheartedly recommend this assignment.

A great Expereince
Candice's pets, Chico the dog and Kiki the cat are just way to cute and loving. I got the opportunity to spend a week with them and they are quite a pair. I was told when I went to meet them, that Chico always barks and it turns out that if he likes you well you will be blessed by having him by your side or in your lap the whole time you decide to take a seat. And no barking. He is a great security dog. The littlest of noise outside and he is on a barking rage. lol Kiki also wants all of your attention and gets a little frustrated because Chico bo guards your attention. So she will jump up on anything next to you and be like I am here give me some too. The best way to give her attention is go into the bathroom, Her food is on a dresser and she will jump up and then you can give her plenty. They both like to sleep with you. Chico under the covers and Kiki right next to your head. It was truly a pleasure pet sitting for these wonderful animals.
