Home in the mountains of North GA

About this assignment

Clean, neat, tidy, non smoking/vaping, drug free, responsible, honest, individual or couple with integrity and common sense, to love and care for my home and two kitty boys, while I am gone. Picking up limbs and sticks in the yard and putting them in the fire pit is also helpful.

Must also be nature/ecologically minded, as our property is wildlife friendly, and a certified National Wildlife Federation Habitat.
Looking for a person/people with a great sense of humor, as laughter is essential in these unusual times. Mean spiritedness, racism, sexism, other "isms" etc.,will not be tolerated, period.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Duties will be daily care of our home and property, plants, and especially our 2 cats while I am traveling. Daily cleaning of the litter box is requred and non-negotiable.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is located on 8 acres, on a rushing creek, just 3.5 miles from Historic Downtown Ellijay, in the beautiful N Georgia mountains. Restaurants, antique shops, boutiques.

You will be staying in the charming and comfortable guest room upstairs. King size bed, private bath.

House has WiFi, streaming TV upstairs and down, laundry.

An award winning winery is literally 1.5 miles away, just around the corner; they have great food, spectacular mountain views, and several non-alcoholic beverage selections, as well.

We have beauty and privacy (there are neighbors, but homes not visible from our house), like in the middle of nowhere, but still so close to everything! Convenient to Atlanta, Chattanooga, TN, and Asheville, NC, should you want to take a day trip.

If there is a power outage I have an automatic propane generator that will come on and turn itself off when power is restored.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

While I am not a neat freak by any means, please understand that upon my return I expect my home, belongings, and property to be in as good a shape (or better), and as clean (or cleaner), as it was when I left. This includes the bathrooms, toilets, and showers/tubs. Kitchen, pots and pans, dishes, including sink, stove and especially the oven. (PLEASE don't broil anything!)

You are welcome to use the propane grill on the deck.

It should go without saying that private areas (my bedroom and bath, closets, basement) are to remain just that- private.

If something is accidentally damaged or broken, please fess up to it. I understand things can and do happen, sometimes.

I just want my home and pets treated with the respect and care you would treat your own- and I really want you to enjoy my home, cats, and yourself, during your stay! :-)
