About this assignment
Looking for a pet loving, reliable and trustworthy person to care for our two dachshunds and our home while we are gone on vacation. If you want to snuggle with some fur babies this could be the house sit for you.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Caring for our two Dachshunds. Brie is 8 years old, very sweet girl, loves to snuggle.
Brody is 5, he’s full of mischief and is a love bug once he gets to know you.
They love to go for walks. This is not a requirement but they would appreciate it. Walks usually involve sniffing more than walking! We have a park attached to our community.
Minimal yard and pool care required.
What are the good features of the property and location
We live in a quiet gated community. We do have the occasional planes that break the silence as we are less than 10 minutes from Sacramento airport. We have a pool, small backyard with little maintenance. Less than 15 minutes from downtown Sacramento.
Less than an hour from local wine regions.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We would prefer that our fur babies are not left alone for more than 5 hours at a time. They are fed twice a day. Morning and night.
Walks would be appreciated by Brie and Brody.
We would prefer our pet sitter come early on the 9TH or the day before if you are coming cross country. Our flight is due back late at night on the 17TH, we’d appreciate you staying until the 18TH but this is not essential.
Can I bring my own pets?

Another Great Visit!
It was another wonderful visit with Brie and Brody. Their parents are the best, most thoughtful hosts too! For example, they wanted to know if there was anything they can make available to me in the home, like morning beverage preferences, etc. It was the holidays and they even left me a very generous gift - beyond thoughtful! The pups are very well behaved and highly treat motivated. I had a cold for most of this visit and they were happy to just hang-out and snuggle with me. Their routine is straightforward, 2 bowls of dry food/day and a leisurely 20 minute walk. They will also ring a bell to let you know when they need to go outside - it’s so cool to see. The home is comfy, beautiful and very well organized in a gated community. It includes everything you’ll need for a comfortable and fun visit. One of the best sits you’ll find. In fact, I sure miss Brie and Brody already! Highly recommend!

Just Wonderful!
What a wonderful pet-sit opportunity! Karen & Brian’s beautiful home is warm, welcoming, …and super organized - a perfect reflection of the Cassidy family themselves. By invitation, I joined them for pizza dinner before they left and they felt like old friends by the end of the meal. Karen kindly showed me around their home and neighborhood, very efficiently covering every single thing I needed to know before departing - no surprises! There were also numerous thoughtful gestures by both Karen & Brian making me feel so comfortable, welcome & appreciated. Brie and Brody are the sweetest, cutest, funniest little cuddle-bugs - I really enjoyed hanging out as well as exploring the neighborhood with them! We took leisurely walks throughout the friendly community and they were always eager to join me. The neighborhood felt very safe with lots of walking options, including around their community’s relaxing parks & private lake. Should you get the opportunity to pet sit for this special family, don’t hesitant! I can’t say enough about them, their beautiful home & how lucky I feel to have met them!

Four Paws Up
Brian & Karen could not have made my stay any more enjoyable. I was ever so kindly picked up (& dropped off) at the airport, the kitchen was stocked with yummy meals, their home is incredibly organized & clean, and the backyard is like a little oasis. I truly felt like I was home away from home. Comfy & safe in every way. And the fur babies? Oh my goodness Brie & Brody were the most precious little Doxie duo!! We went for walks during the day, sat out reading in the sun during the afternoon & snuggled together at night before bed. I think I laughed to myself every time I heard one of them ‘ringing the bell’ to go to the bathroom or seeing Brody sneak out of a room with my slipper daily. Haha. Seeing their little faces pop up from under the covers each morning was comparable to that first cup of good coffee that we all look forward to (well tea in Karen’s case haha). I miss them so much & would come back in a heartbeat to have another slumber party.

To the delightful Cassidy family, it was my great pleasure to see you again and stay with Brie and Brody. I can’t say enough good things about the Cassidy’s they open up their beautiful home and make you feel like a friend. Fur babies,Brie is independent and all knowing with her expressions, Brody is still the adorable bouncing baby boy. I spent a good deal of time just watching them play, so cute. Great Experience
I can’t say enough good things about my house/pet sitting for the Cassidy family. They had everything organized with clear instructions and notes and kept in touch. They have a lovely house that says welcome the moment you walk through the front door. Their community is gated and feels very secure. The best part is the adorable fur babies Brie and Brody both sweet and lovable. If you get the opportunity to sit at the Cassidy household you won’t be disappointed.
