One cat. Sociable, fun, lovely personality, adores people, does not like other cats. Loves a tummy rub and a chat.
The most important things to us are that our cat Brina feels loved and secure; that our home is enjoyed and cared for responsibly; and that our plants don't die :)
We are looking for a couple or a single person, non smoker, not charging a fee. Own car handy, but not essential
- Caring for our cat (feeding, cuddling. Brina needs to be at home after dark).
- Watering house plants
- Putting out bins once a week for refuse collection
- taking post in, if needed
- mowing a lawn a couple of times would be great, but not essential
Wake up to the birds' song, peace and tranquillity.
The house has a creative vibe and a great location. Best of both worlds:
beautiful rural walks on the door step and great connections to central London.
There is front and back garden to relax.
15 minutes walk to Kenley rail station, bus stops and shops (Co-op, take aways, restaurants, hairdresser, pharmacy...).
30 min train journey to central London (London Bridge/Victoria etc)
Lovely setting, friendly neighbourhood, Tesco, Morrisons, Sports centre with a swimming pool within around 10 minutes drive
The house is situated on the first floor. There is a very spacious lounge/dining room, en-suite double bedroom (bath and a shower), WC, good size kitchen with the utility room, and two extra rooms.
Free driveway and street parking
Please note: there is no TV, but excellent and fast wi-fi.
Also, we have water softener installed, so the quality of drinking and washing water is excellent. You will use far less soap and washing powder than average. :)
Our cat Brina is a 13 year old Bombay cat.
She has dog's personality: loves people and attention.
She will greet you and talk to you. She is very friendly, cuddly, and clever; fun to be around.
We are a family of 4, with seven year old twin boys.
We are creative, open and interested in others.
If you think you are a match, let's talk! :)
No, sorry.

Lovely cat, lovely people, great house sit
I house and pet sat for Nic and Maria for over a month in summer 2024. They are delightful people, very easy to get on with and they gave me all the detail I needed to be able to take care of everything while they were away. Their house is in a quiet area. Brina is a delightful cat who most often enters and exits via a kitchen window by leaping from the grass bank outside. She is very vocal and we had some great 'conversations' and got on really well! Nic, Maria and I communicated while they were away. I would certainly like to house and pet sit for them again, however our dates never seem to coincide. I thoroughly recommend house sitting for Nic, Maria and Brina. Jess Miller

Quiet home with the most loving cat you will meet
I had a really wonderful time in Maria and Nic's home. This was despite Brina being injured badly the day before I arrived. Maria, Nic and their wonderful boys made me feel welcome and comfortable in their home. Its in a fantastic location close to London but with the feel of being in a rural location. Whoever gets to spend time with Brina is very lucky :) She is the warmest, most cuddly loving cat I have met, and I have spent time with many. Thanks for sharing your home and special cat with me.

Two good people in very trying circumstances...
My two week sit at Kenley was 'ad hoc', having come about on account of an emergency request for help, since Maria and Nic had had to extend their holiday abroad. On top of that we had several communication difficulties (both Maria (being abroad) and the next sitter (a Swede visiting the UK) had phone and network limitations). The sit therefore had a few hiccups, but because the previous sitter gave me such good instructions I have assumed that Maria and Nic gave her good instructions to begin with. I realised that Maria and Nic were under considerable pressure, but despite their own problems abroad Maria stayed in touch via an increasingly intractable Whatsapp route and helped negotiate both handovers. We got there in the end! :-) As for the sit, Kenley is a leafy, affluent village-cum-town in the London commuter belt; Maria and Nic's house is quiet, spacious and filled with art; Brina (Maria's cat - 'little sqeaker' as I called her) loves attention and talking to you; and the neighbours are really friendly and helpful. For all I never met them in person I'd be very happy to sit for Maria and Nic again. Good luck with everything, the Collins family! :-) Mick

Peaceful home with gorgeous cat in leafy Kenley
I have been house sitting for Maria and Nic since January 2018 and would be very happy to stay on if I could, but their travel plans have been extended and unfortunately I have other commitments to get back to. Maria and Nic are lovely people, very kind and accommodating, and Brina is the sweetest cat. The house is in a quiet location but with access to London via the station at the bottom of the hill, or the Surrey Hills/Brighton etc in the other direction. This would suit a writer or someone looking for some peace and tranquility but with the benefit of being close to London. I have a car but you could manage without if you were happy to order groceries online or carry them from the shop. You will fall in love with Brina, who is very friendly with bags of personality. She loves having her tummy rubbed and demands a lot of cuddles. Before you know if you will be wrapped around her little paw... I am going to miss her very much!
