They are 10 year old rabbits, they are not bonded (long story) so they take turns being free-roam and being in their enclosures.
We are looking for someone who wants to stay in Victoria, BC for an extended stay during one of the most beautiful times of the year and who is familiar with rabbit care.
It's a bonus if you can arrive a day early.
The main responsibility is taking care of Nova and Zephyr, our two 10-year old free-roam bunnies. We have a few house plants that need watered. We do have friends and neighbours who may be able to watch the bunnies to allow for an overnight trip up island or over to one of the Southern Gulf Islands if you plan in advance. We will leave detailed instructions on their care and routine. You will have to shop for fresh greens for them, and may have to go to the pet store for kibble, treats, and hay (though we will try to stock up beforehand.) We will leave you with store giftcards so you will not have to pay for this out of pocket/get reimbursed.
There may be some light garden care (e.g. watering patio tomatoes) but at this time of year, it's mostly just harvesting and eating! There should be an abundance of plums and a few apples too...there may even be figs left depending on how long the season lasts!
Bringing recycling and waste bins to and from the street on pickup days. Bringing in the mail.
We live in Victoria, a few blocks from the downtown core but in a homey neighbourhood. We have a large kitchen, two bedrooms, a finished basement (steep stairs though!), a lovely living room with a big dining table in front of a picture window overlooking our landscaped front yard. We have a lovely patio deck out the back, a shared backyard, and a washer/dryer. There are two e-bikes that you may be able to use (Stephani is super short though, so her bike may only fit you if you're sub-5'3 tall (160cm). There is off-street parking in our driveway for one vehicle (in addition to ours). We have a very attentive landlord who does the landscaping so there is no yard work and if anything needs addressed, he only lives a few blocks away!
We used to live in Minnesota and had many pet and house sitters. You can find four of these testimonials on our profile. This is the first time we are using MindMyHouse at our Victoria, BC home!
As our bunnies are considered elderly, being familiar with rabbit care is important. As rabbits are prey-animals, it's probably best that you don't have a dog or cat of your own.
We have two neighbours on property, one downstairs and one in the back cottage. We share the backyard with them. Our upstairs patio is exclusively yours to use.
Canada is very strict about past impaired driving and drug charges and will deny entry to those who have any on their records.
No, sorry.

Communicative & Trusting Homeowner
House-sitting and caring for Stephani & Whitney's bunny, Bun Snuggles, was a breeze! Stephani reached back out to me rapidly after writing in for the opportunity. Assignment was clear and Whitney provided typed super thorough directions in case I had any questions about anything. Excellent location in St. Paul, MN. Highly recommend!

Great St. Paul Location - Funny Bunny!
Just got done with a wonderful sit for Stephani at her duplex in St. Paul. The place is in a trending neighborhood and close to downtown. Clean and spacious with a big bathtub and off-street parking. The bunny is amazing--cuddly and soft and very sweet. The instructions were clear, the internet strong and the house comfortable and clean.

Comfortable and Easy
This is a pretty easy and comfortable assignment. The pup and bunny are very low key, even if they have some medicine needs. Stephani had great communication and also leaves good directions. You don't have to be there nonstop as the pup does like an afternoon nap. He will easily cuddle up with you on the couch for the evening. If you have a car you can easily explore the St Paul and Minneapolis area.

Fin, helpful, kind
Lucky is the person who gets to hang out here! Stephani and Whitney are very generous and accomodating and went above and beyond to help me out of a bind. Buddha the pit bull is a big softie, and Buns is the most personable rabbit ever. Their charming duplex is in a vibrant, fun neighborhood, and their home is full of cool stuff. I am moving soon to their city St. Paul and look forward to growing our friendship.
