We are looking for a caring, responsible dog lover to come and cuddle Jazzy and Holly while we are away in Spain. Jazzy is our 15 year old Golden Cocker Spaniel, he is an ex rescue dog and is just the gentlest kindest soul, he loves all people and other dogs and is a dream to care for. He is such a gentle boy so we are looking for someone who will be kind and gentle with him. He is low energy, one 30 min walk a day is fine for him, he spends the rest of his day snoozing on the sofas and reminding you when its dinner time, in case you forget.
Holly is an 8 year old Golden Cocker just like Jazzy, she too is an ex-breeding dog but she has had a harder life than Jazzy, it shows in the way she shakes as you approach her. But don't be fooled in to thinking she wants you to keep your distance - she doesn't - she absolutely loves a fuss, but is nervous until you sit down beside her, then she will just melt in to you. She is nervous but has a lovely temperment, she is a super gentle little girl.
Our home is a comfortable and cosy 2 bed detached bungalow in the beautiful old village of Great Hinton in Wiltshire. It has a good size garden, plenty of parking, and central heating. The lounge has lovely big french doors overlooking the south facing garden, and comfy reclining chairs and sofas, making it a lovely peaceful place to while away a few hours - Holly and Jazzy's favourite pass time, preferably with a human at their side. The area is very peaceful and pretty. The city of Bath is a 30 minute drive, the Kennet & Avon canal is a 5 min drive away, Stonehenge is 30 mins away, and the stunning village of Lacock is about a 15 minute drive. The village nearby villages of Seend and Steeple Ashton have a shop/ post office/ cafe, and the nearest towns are Devizes and Melksham which are both about a 10 minute drive.
We visit our house in Spain several times a year, so if you fancy coming to Wiltshire just message me when you would like to come and we'll see what we can work out. It could be for a long weekend, or a week, or 2!
Ideally we would like someone to come and spend a week or so here over xmas and new year.
We also plan to go to Spain for a week or so in March, April, May and June 2026, so if you can help then, please do get in touch.
To feed and walk Jasper and Holly every day. To spend most of their time with them as they do like human company, but can be left for up to 4hrs per day.
This place is lovely if you want a peaceful rural retreat in a beautiful village within 30 mins of Bath and Stonehenge. Our home is a lovely detached 2 bed bungalow in the beautiful Wiltshire village of Great Hinton. It is a rural area, quiet and calm. There are comfy recliner sofas with picture windows overlooking the garden. There is a secure garden and plenty of parking. Its close to some lovely walks along the Kennett & Avon canal and half an hour from Bath. We are half an hour from Stonehenge and Avebury and 15 mins from the stunning National Trust village of Lacock. There are some great local foodie pubs. Good wi-fi.
You will need to be able to drive (I have a car you can use if you don't have your own) as there are no shops within walking distance. Will need to "live in" the house and not just visit twice a day (I've had that happen before and the dog was left alone for hours on end and overnight).
Yes
Restrictions: My dogs are fine with other dogs as long as they are quiet and calm.

A great house sit
It was an absolute pleasure to house sit for Kathryn and Martyn, and for the adorable Mabel and Jasper. Kathryn and Martyn are friendly and generous hosts, providing excellent information and in regular contact. Jasper and Mabel are both sweet and loving little dogs and they were a pleasure to care for. We’ll miss them and are looking forward to our next sit! The house is comfortable and in a lovely setting, overlooking beautiful countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there and would recommend the sit to anyone.

Marvellous mabe
Recently spent a lovely 10 days sitting for Kathy and Martyn whilst they spend some time away in Spain. The time was well taken up with the quiet, peaceful annexe surroundings and of course, the 'lady' of the manor, Mabel ; ) We had a great time together and i think both of us got to venture to many previously unknown parts of the countryside and including such beauties as Lacock, Longleat, Bradford on avon and all its many canal/river trails. So many more walks and places of tranquil interests i could mention but all in all out and about with Mabel by day and quiet evenings in sitting back watching Alpaca's graze outside the window.. not much more you could ask for! Kathy and Martyn let me know of all the necessary bits n bobs but keep it simple and open which is always the energy and circumstance i feel allows for such exchanges to work best : ) Thanks again and hugs to everyone, especially Mabe who we know deep down really likes them too! All the best Greg
