About this assignment

Need someone or couple who can mind the house, take care of the animals, notify me of any important mail, and resolve any unforeseen disasters. Must have a sense of humor and willing to finish any wine that is in danger of going bad.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Talk to, play with, care for and feed animals: 1 dog, 1 cat, 4 goats, 2 sheep, 2 rabbits, 4 chickens

Monitor mail; keep in touch with us.

What are the good features of the property and location

Historic landmark (a chateau) with elements built beginning 12th Century - through 18th Century. Stone staircases, views of the countryside; interesting architecture and layout. The location is a small village not far from Rodez, which is the largest town in the Aveyron department, and the capital of the department.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Please do a bit of research on the area before applying. Public transportation, including train service, is rare here. This is a remote but beautiful region of France that most people haven't yet discovered. We prefer someone/couple who can speak French and who can stay the entire time, and who are not afraid to prove they are trustworthy.

We will send you a detailed list of duties, etc., and talk with you via video.

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: Best not to bring a dog, though a cat might fit in.
