Seeking cat lover for one month house-sit close to New York City

About this assignment

Looking for a responsible cat lover to watch over 2 cats, take in the mail, water the garden and be a presence while we are away. Want someone with good judgement to care for the house, cats, and garden.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feeding cats, making sure they have fresh water, cleaning and
changing kitty litter &, providing affection.
Watering plants in front garden and back deck
Dealing with the mail
Taking out garbage and recyclables

What are the good features of the property and location

We are located in Jersey City, New Jersey directly across from lower Manhattan. It's 10 minute train ride to New York City & our house is a 7 minute walk to the train. Jersey City is a vibrant community with many great restaurants, coffee shops, parks and farmers' markets.
Though this is an urban environment, our wood frame house built in 1837, has a large garden, a grape arbor, a back deck and a small front porch.

A perfect place to explore New York City, while having a calm house to return to, as well as all the benefits of Jersey City.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Because of our proximity to New York City and public transportation, street parking for more than a few hours during the work day is only available for residents so having a car will require use of a paid parking lot (of which there are many). A car is not necessary, however, as public transportation is close by and Jersey City is a walkable city.
