Our animals are at the heart of our lives, so for our spring sits we are looking for genuinely kind, reliable animal lovers who will care for them as if they were their own. We share our home with two golden retrievers, a Brittany spaniel and five rescued cats, along with a small flock of eight sheep and eight hens plus a rooster — all much-loved members of our household.
The role involves the daily care and companionship of our animals, including feeding, letting dogs out, walking them, and giving them the attention and routine they are used to. The cats are independent but enjoy company and regular meals. Our sheep and poultry require straightforward daily checks, feeding, fresh water, and secure opening and closing of housing. General house care is simple and includes keeping the home tidy, bringing in post, and letting us know promptly if anything seems amiss. We provide clear instructions and support throughout the sit.
Our home is set in a beautifully peaceful rural environment, with no traffic noise and no light pollution at night — just quiet skies and open space — yet we are on a good road with easy connections. The nearest town is only ten minutes away, and a village with basic amenities is just one mile down the road. Sitters will have the use of our car during their stay. Day-to-day life here is very easy: we have a cleaner who comes three times a week and a gardener who visits once or twice weekly, so there is no heavy housework to manage, allowing you to enjoy the calm of the countryside and focus on the animals.
Things to consider: This is a very quiet rural sit with limited nearby entertainment, which suits people who enjoy peace, nature, and animal company rather than a busy social life. Because of the number of animals, we need sitters who are happy to be on site most of the time and who appreciate a settled daily routine. In return, the rewards are total peace and quiet, long walks from the door and the deep calm that comes from living closely with animals in the countryside.
No, sorry.
