Portugal Off-Grid homestead in Peace & unspoilt Nature

About this assignment

We are looking for kind, caring responsible people who will care for our lovely dogs and home as their own. Our dogs are friendly and well mannered, and exercise themselves on the land but love to have the company and care of friendly people.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Responsibilities of a home sit are mainly keeping the dogs safe and happy, but we also appreciate care of our home with some gardening, tidying etc.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our property is in unspoiled nature, with stone house and studio, lots of trees, and private river access. The land is lush with plants, trees and wild flowers in Spring. The location is in Central Portugal not far from the Spanish border and historic Monsanto. The area is awash in ancient history and places to visit.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

House sitters must be experienced with bouncy dogs as Pearl & Rain are bull breeds and are full of beans! Hazel is very elderly now so sleeps most of the day but does need gentle care and observation. All three are straight forward with no special needs. Our home is an organic, off-grid farm which was once a retreat so we appreciate ‘soft footprints’ and conscious care.
